I've talked a lot with some people on msn from USA, and since we live in different countries, we learned there's a lot of differences between you Americans and us Canucks.

For example, one of the biggest differences is probably that most americans have never heard of milk in a bag, and definitely not those little thingies we sometimes use to cut open milk in a bag.

Oh, and American smarties? In Canada, we've got candies just like those called rockets, and the real smarties over here are like m&ms, but with lighter chocolate.

So do you know anything else different about our two countries?

Oh, and nobody here says "aboot". That's just the silly newfies. >_>BUT WE DO SAY EH. Oh, another thing. For the letter Z, you guys say "zee", while we say "zed".

Canada has 1% more males than America.

I've got caught Star saying aboot a couple times. :D
Also, I've never seen pountine (sp?) here, though I've wanted to try it. I dunno if thats Canadia exclusive.

Canada has less crime in most places. You could take a stroll downtown in my city at 2 in the morning without a single worry.

Oh shit no, there's poutine here too. My friend used to always get it a Greek deli we always went to.

Poutine is french canadian, mostly. Most of it is pretty disgusting, really. But sometimes you find some poutine that's actually well made, and it tastes good, and it makes me glad to be Québecois. But then I look around and realize how disgusting quebecois food actually is, and I remain indifferent, like the true canadian that I am.

Also, Milk bags = <3

MIIIIILK BAAAAAAAGS FTW. You can actually SEE how much is left in it, and it's much easier to snip off an edge of a bag than it is to open a fucking carton. One time I got a carton of chocolate milk that was labeled backwards, I WAS TRYING TO OPEN THE WRONG SIDE.

We have 'Smarties' in Britain.

Image

They're chocolate like the Canadian ones.

'Snickers' used to be called 'Marathon' in Britain.

'Starburst' used to be called 'Opal Fruits' in Britain.

Not entirely unrelated to the current discussion.

ALSO - do you have 'Marmite' in Canada?

Your smarties box is strange.
Also, I've never heard of marmite.... but then, I haven't heard of a lot of things, so I'm probably not the best representation of a typical canadian in this case. :U

We used to get 'Smarties' in tubes (heh 'TUUUUUBES!') but it was decided that they were unnecessarily damaging to the environment (the manufacturing process for a hexagonal TUUUBE requires less industrial processes than a cyndrical TUUUBE).

So I deduce that you Canadians don't care about the environment. :U

We get 'em in boxes. Note the bilingualism, too.

Mmmmmm poutine is so good. You can get it at KFC here. Also, I use those milk-bag cutters, I didn't know that was a Canadian thing.
