Court is now in session! Will the defendants rise?



Each of you are here today on suspicion of murder. How do you all plea?

"Not guilty."

"Not guilty!"

"N-not guilty..."

"Not guilty, maaaaaaaaaaaan."

"Guilty! .....No, wait...."



As I suspected. Luckily, we know the names of the people who took part in the murder. However.......



No one is certain who is who! In such a case, a multi-phase trial will take place, and until the trial is over.....





Each of you is considered guilty until proven innocent under our legal system.

"W-what?!?!?"

"This is crazy, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!"



Now, now, then, calm down. Each of you will be given the chance to plead your case.

Here are the rules of the court:

1. Town members and Mafia members must get a Guilty verdict for every member of the opposing team. The last team standing wins!

2. During each round, there will be a Trial segment(day) and an Investigation segment(night). During the Trial segment, each of you will deliberate amongst each other, and open discussion is permitted. You will then decide by majority vote who to lynch and declare a guilty verdict upon. Once a lynch has been decided, the Investigation segment will begin. During this time, COURT IS IN RECESS. NO POSTS ALLOWED. The mafia will then decide who to pin the murder on during this time in a private chat.

3. NO EDITING POSTS. Anyone caught editing their posts will be held in contempt of court and immediately given a Guilty verdict! However, you are allowed to double post(within reason).

4. Since this is a Role Madness Mafia, everyone has a role. Anyone with an Investigative Action can PM me to use their role ONCE during the Investigation segment.

5. The Trial segment will last one full week from the time court is brought into session. If a lynch is not decided in a week, no one is declared Guilty and the Investigation segment begins immediately!

6. You can make one last post after you are declared Guilty, but that's it!

7. NO METAGAMING. This includes screenshots of PMs, talking about the game outside the thread, etc. Such behavior will garner you an immediate Guilty verdict! Also, using posts from other threads as "evidence" is inadmissible in this court!

8. As a special additional rule, if you've played the games, ABSOLUTELY NO SPOILERS. NOT EVEN IN SPOILER TAGS.

9. TurboPunz says no posting sprites during Trial discussions. Just post like normal people, please.

Phoenix Wright

Role: Doctor
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to visit. If that person is targeted for a Guilty verdict, Wright shouts "Objection!" and presents evidence to disprove the claim(by bluffing his way through it).



Dick Gumshoe

Role: Cop
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to, well, investigate! That person will be revealed as Guilty or Not Guilty. Please don't find him Guilty, he can barely pay for instant noodles, much less bail.



Larry Butz

Role: Miller
Description: Has no Investigative Action. Due to his terrible luck, he will show as Guilty if investigated.



Lotta Hart

Role: Watcher
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to take photographs of. Anyone who visits that person will be caught on film, but the images are so grainy that the username is shown, but not the role!



Athena Cykes

Role: Voyeur
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to examine with her Mood Matrix. Anyone who visits that person during that Investigation will have their role revealed, but not their username!



Apollo Justice

Role: Inventor
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to give a piece of defensive evidence with a hearty "Take That!". Can give defensive evidence to himself. A player holding defensive evidence cannot be found Guilty during an Investigation. Players can only have one piece of defensive evidence. Discarded after one use. Be sure to cover your ears from his Chords of Steel.

Role: Coroner
Description: *MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH* Can choose one person to investigate after they are declared Guilty. *MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH* That person's true role will be revealed if they were tailored. *MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH* Does she ever stop eating?!?!?

Manfred von Karma:

Role: Godfather
Description: Vote counts for two during Mafia meetings. Decides who incriminates a player during an Investigation. If found Guilty, Mafia votes for new Godfather. Shows as Not Guilty when investigated. Don't taze me, bro.



Dahlia Hawthorne

Role: Roleblocker
Description: Can choose one person per Investigation to bat her eyelashes at. That person cannot use their Investigative Action during that Investigation! She looks so sweet and innocent, even butterflies gravitate towards her.



The Phantom

Role: Tailor
Description: Can give a maximum of THREE outfits total to other players, Town or Mafia, to disguise them as a different role. Can only give one outfit per Investigation. If a player The Phantom has tailored is found Guilty, that person will be revealed to be the role they were tailored to, rather than their actual role! Who the heck IS this guy?!?!?

That gives us a total of ten roles! I'll give you all a few days to sign up, then we'll immediately jump into Investigation 1!

ALSO BECAUSE I'M AN IDIOT I realize I made a mistake in Pearl Fey's description. She cannot be found Guilty by the Mafia during an Investigation and cannot be found Guilty in the Trial by way of incriminating evidence. Essentially, she can only be found Guilty through lynching.

Both of these will be amended in the rules.
