I wish I found out about this sooner. This is extremely alarming.

China is trying to poison us all. What cowards they are, resorting to biological warfare. >=|

I didn't buy chocolate for handing out to kids, what with the melamine poisoning scare going on.

I posted that in the Halloween thread. So, yeah, you've found out pretty late considering I found out in... September or the beginning of October?

I haven't really been eating anything with powdered milk, unless I have no substitute for it.

I heard it was to bring up the protein rating.

Drink your melamine, kids. You'll grow up nice and strong!

It's like those energy bars from The Simpsons that were made from apple cores and Chinese newspapers.

Both contained melamine.

It's not to actually bring it up. They water down the milk, which lowers the protein rating obviously, and add the melamine to fool the protein tests into thinking it's the proper amount.

Also, I'm not sure if what I read was simply worded wrong, or if this is right - But I read that melamine poisoning is more common in infants and children, but not adults, or even teenagers. Unless you're having macaroni every day, you're probably okay.

I haven't seen the stores near my house (Safeway, Extra Foods...) take ANYTHING down. They were slow to take items down during the listeria scare too, aswell as that rat poison contamination that was killing everyone's pets. We were worried for weeks our dogs were going to get sick or die because we had been feeding them an infected brand.
