I don't really go for most animes, but I have to agree, Clannad is pretty awesome. One of my friends watches Naruto a lot, but I watched an episode once and it just blabbed on about chakras for half an hour.

I approve of Clannad. Gainax usually makes excellent anime.

However, Gurren Lagann is quite shit imo. :)
