Hey guys! In honor of Dual Destinies being released soon, as well as the fact that I just love the series, I want to start up a text-based(I cannot draw to save my life) Ace Attorney forum game soon, but I need some input first! (Also time to actually write the story.)

Here's how it works: I'll provide stories based on the Ace Attorney series, using a similar style to the real games. You can sign up during each case to play the part of a specific character. Almost none, if any, of these characters are from the actual game, so please don't feel like you have to emulate a particular style. I'll give a basis for their mannerisms and characteristics, and you go nuts from there! Some people may even be cast for permanent roles! (Unless you don't want to be a character permanently, that's fine!) If you'd like to be a permanent character, PLEASE, PLEASE, I WILL GET DOWN ON MY KNEES AND BEG, PLEASE OH PLEASE, BE DEDICATED TO POSTING HERE FREQUENTLY! The permanent characters will have more prominent roles, i.e. the main character, the sidekick, the rival lawyer, etc. As such, they'll be speaking more, and if you're not here to post, cases are going to take FOREVER to finish. To alleviate this, however, some characters will have all the details of the cases, in order to keep them from going in circles with no progress. Those characters will be given a Google Doc or something to get the information they need, as well as to post any questions they have. SIGN UPS ARE NOT OPEN YET. I'll post here as soon as they're open.

You can, forumite! Anyone aside from the people playing as a specific character can post at any time with suggestions! You can tell the characters what to investigate, who to talk to, what evidence to present, etc.!

Now here's where I need your input. What kind of style of game do you all want?

Your choices are:

Tradition Ace Attorney Style-Actual trials, like the original game. The main character will be a defense attorney, the rival character is a prosecutor, and the sidekick will be decided at a later time.

Ace Attorney Investigations Style-As the name implies, more focused on investigations and no trials, like the Miles Edgeworth spinoffs. Different game mechanics than the orignal, the main character is a prosecutor, the rival will be decided at a later time, and the sidekick is a detective.

Polls are now open until.....sometime! Also if you want to tell me what a freaking AWFUL idea this is, feel free!

Yeah....no.

Also, I forgot to mention! There will music included as well, although which music is used depends on the decision reached! Let that affect your decisions as well!

Well, given my outstanding performance in dangan crossing, maybe I'll give this a go. At least if I fail the consequences will be less heartbreaking...right?

A tip Marc: don't let people who don't get on very often or at all play. You should know of a few of the people who do that, and its kinda why dangan crossing is shambling.

You poor bastard. You don't even know what you're signed up for.

I prefer traditional, mainly for reasons I won't disclose quite yet~

Awesome! Although I'll have to ask that you and Barabba officially sign up once I open it. The only reason I'm not accepting sign-ups right now is because I haven't gotten all the characters formed yet. I'd rather have people do an official sign-up and indicate who they'd like to be cast as, rather than do it now and go by who posted first and have you stuck bring someone you don't like.

I don't get this part, did you miss a word? Also, Investigations seems hard without a visual picture of what we're investigating. I'd rather just do Traditional if it's just text. Idk if I'll be able to participate just yet..

Ooh, yeah, good catch. Almost none, if any, of characters ARE from the actual game.

Essentially, I'm likely going to be using entirely original characters. Maybe one or two recurring characters, but it definitely won't be like seeing a familiar character every single case.

I'll edit the OP.

As far as investigations go, I'll try to be thorough in my descriptions. I won't be saying something like "This mud puddle has an imprint that looks like The Blue Badger", with no indication of what the Blue Badger looks like. It'll usually be something simple, like "This mud puddle has an imprint shaped like a hand." Something easy to visualize.

Ok, I was about to ask about that, because I don't really know anything about the ace attourney games or its characters.

No worries! I'll give the run-down once this gets rolling. And if you're a main character, I'll give further instructions about what you should do in that case. I definitely don't want to discourage anyone from participating just because they're not familiar with the series.

Right here, once I get certain details hammered out.

Space Attorney reminds me way too much of Space Ace.
