So this happened, I'm glad thus turned out like it did.

I'm glad no one got hurt in that real one. Also, it looks pretty weird, is it for mobile or something? We had a lock down drill in school today. I had to grab my friend to my class room cause he was coming from lunch to his class which was farther away. I hate how no one took it seriously and some were as arrogant to say they'd be able to take down a gunner themselves. (I know they were probably joking, but it was still annoying.)

A man with a gun is a frightening thing indeed. I remember once talking a child out of using his fathers gun on me once as a teenager, and let me tell you, it was not easy to stay calm in the face of death like that, explaining the terrible things would happen to him if he pulled that trigger afterwards, while quite conscientiously omitting what would happen to ME if he pressed it... And no, I am not kidding. I am glad I made it out with my life. My friends younger brother somehow managed to get his hands on that thing while I was visiting and was playing dangerous redneck -_-

His parents made that kid apologize to me later for threatening my life. I never visited that friend anymore.

So yes, worst thing to do, fight an armed gunman at school without weapons. Just goes to show you cant teach children common sense...

Its a local news station which means poor quality, and also mobile.

I heard a rumor that the superintendent was going to fire blanks during the next lockdown drill, so let's see how that goes.

They should do that so people actually take things seriously. I swear, it's not enough that kids got shot students have to be in fear of their own lives to get it.

my college had a lockdown drill in my last semester there and they were going to have 3 or 4 armed dudes (with blanks obv but yeah,) run around and threaten people, and weren't going to tell anyone but the teachers/staff so everyone would be appropriately freaked out etc etc but at the last minute sent an email out to everyone about it and also did not have armed people at all so it kinda made the drill a bit of a joke :/ a lot of people didn't give a shit and were still out and about in the halls because they knew it wasn't real. dumbasses.

i wish they'd gone through with it all. not only would it have been really good practice it'd have actually been pretty cool to see as well, i'm sure.

Those kinds of drills are never a good idea shazza. It's dangerous to the ones acting because you will never know how someone is going to react when they believe their life is in danger. A little more impact is not worth the risk of one of said people harming the actor.
