BurntToShreds' Interview with Galaxy Man

First off, are you a guy or a girl?

Unless I have a really bad mutation I'm a dude.

So what's up with your username? Are you a Mega Man villain or what?

Yeah, actually. The one from Mega Man 9. I chose the name pretty much just on the basis that Galaxy Man's stage was really the best in the game. Easy boss, but the whole stage was fun as all hell. The color even got to me. So I grabbed the name as a halloween name on a different forum, but I got lazy and never really bothered with changing it until it ended up sticking with me.

What kind of forum posts annoy you the most?

Most of them.

nah seriously though, not a whole lot of things really get on my nerves. At least not for very long. I just like to argue, really. I get pretty heated on particular subjects, but nothing annoys me. Sometimes I do end up just reading something repeatedly because I cannot comprehend it or the thinking behind it at all, but I don't get annoyed so much as exasperated.

What's your favorite forum topic? Any reason for the choice?

I think pretty much every topic is great but Unimportant Topics and General Games are pretty hilarious at times. It looks like I have more posts in the MSPA topic, but I wouldn't say it'd my favorite. Just that there's more to discuss.

Although I could have sworn there were these great handbag topics somewhere, I can't find them anymore...

What hobbies do you have?

Other than video games? I'm sort of a terrible musician. I'm attempting to learn guitar and piano, but my rampant inability to hold my interest to anything at all means I don't practice a lot, and when I want to it's usually 12am and everyone is asleep so I can't. Does sleeping count as a hobby? I sleep a lot also.

You become a giant robot for a day. What do you do?

Panic for an hour because holy shit I just woke up and suddenly I'm a giant robot. After that I'd more than likely use my giant robot face. Specifically, the face that no one could recognize because well giant robot. Steal some cheddar, I guess. Steal some games. Steal Will Ferrel. Just basic thievery is what I'm thinking.

Then with my giant robot powers I guess I could hide it all somewhere. Come back the next day, grab everything, be a baws.

Finally, if you could have one Internet-related wish granted, what would it be?

Just

have everyone forget acronyms like lol and shit like that

Because when people are like "lol g2g b bk l8r" and they're completely serious, it's just sad. Really, really sad.

- First off, for those of us planning to get in your pants, are you of the male of the female persuasion?
I'm a dude.

- BurntToShreds is an unusual name, what compelled you to be known this way?
Back in 2007 when I used to play Maplestory, I tried to come up with a new name. I thought of "TornToAshes". That sounded too emo, so I chose "BurntToShreds" instead, because it sounded cooler to me. I've decided to use it ever since.

- Now, it's no secret you love anime and videogames. What anime do you think would make a great game? And vice versa?
Blue Exorcist would make an excellent hack and slash game. The main character, Rin, is the son of Satan. But he considers the priest who raised him as his real dad, so he vows to (he says this word-for-word) "Beat the shit out of Satan" for killing his foster father. Rin also has a brother, who's an excorcist that uses guns to kill demons. So two styles of play would offer more demon-killing.

- Then what game would make a good anime?
Hotel Dusk. I would LOVE to see a continuation of the game, seeing mysteries solved in that art style would be amazing.

- Could you tell us all a little about what it's like to live in Texas? Are any of the clichés true?
If you visit really small towns, then yes, people are ignorant. Regular sized small towns, like New Braunfels, are better about this. The big cities, like San Antonio, Austin, and Houston are like every other city in the US. We have an annual livestock show and rodeo here in Houston, and Western wear is a common sight there.

I think that a lot of the cliches come from the fact that a lot of Texans are prideful in the fact that the people who founded Texas fought for their independence from Mexico. That, and it used to be its own country.

- If you could live in any place, real or fiction, where would it be?
I have it down to two choices: King City, from the comic of the same name, and CCC City, from the flash animations of Vinnie Veritas. Both of these cities are full of adventure, and a lot more interesting than my current lot in life. Porbably King City, because it's pretty awesome and I love the art.

- Is there a particular reason why you became the de facto official reporter of the AZ community?
Mainly because I wish to contribute something of worth to AZ, and I can't draw or write worth a daisies, so I came back to this topic and thought "Hey, I could do something like this!"

- Most excellent reasons, now if you could make one wish, what would it be?
I would wish to be whisked away to King City and have awesome adventures there.

Your name, Syobon, is that Japanese for something? Could you tell us what it means?
It's from an obscure Japanese game, I think it means Cat-Mario. It's a pretty fun parody of Mario, you can check it out here . There's also a part 2 out, if anyone's interested.

Please tell us why we should not suspect you of being a robot.
Because I can hurt you.

You are alone in a room with a sleeping grizzly bear in between you and the door. How do you approach this situation?
Depends. If the bear is hibernating, I simply sneak past him. If he is asleep, I try to sneak past him and if that fails I will try to scare him away by hitting him in the face.

What is your zombie apocalypse plan?
Get to a military base as fast as possible.

What cereal is your favorite?
Golden Grahams.

What inspired you to join this forum?
I've been reading this comic for a long time, and when I was bored one time I decided to check out the forums. I started reading the Funny Picture thread, and when I read completely through it I decided to join because this seemed like a fun community.

Finally, if you could have one internet related wish granted, what would it be?
The internet can stay the way it is for me, the ultimate freedom of expression. That said, I will be very sad if SOPA comes to pass.

BurntToShreds' Interview with Lord Retardus

First off, are you a guy or a girl?
I am a guy. Hence Lord Retardus, not Lady Retardus.

What possessed you to use such an odd name?
It's a long story and it's already somewhere on these forums, but I'll say it again anyway.
It was a Year 7 English class, ages ago.
One day we were supposed to use some sort of cheap Mii knock-off thing for a terrible assignment, and mine was absolutely hideous. Being the person (read: moron) I was back then, I decided to name it something stupid for a cheap laugh or two from my friends.
It grew on me for some reason. and though I never again will remember what that website or activity was, it has left an impact on me.
Of course, I named it Lord Retardus.

What are you Lord of, exactly?
I have no clue. I used to have a theme going where everything I input to AZ was in some way related to idiocy.
I had a Minecraft world called the Domain of Doofuses at one point, but I was a noob back then and bed misplacement set my spawn to god knows where, so I deleted it.
And according to Streetpass Quest, I'm the 'Regal Ruler, Sovereign of all'.

Do you play any instruments? If not, do you have some other special talent you could tell us about?
I did a little bit of piano in school for the past two years but I could never play with both hands at once.
I have started composing recently with LMMS and have a habit of using 'gimmick' composers like Warioware DIY, but I don't know if I'm that good at it. Once I figure this whole 'video software that doesn't butcher sound and is free because I'm poor' thing I'll probably start a Youtube account for that sort of thing.
I also used to write a lot. I should probably get back to that, everyone else seemed to think I was really good at it.

If you could have anything in the world, but made out of legos, what would it be?
A life-sized Mario Kart. Preferably the one from the first few games.

Are you aware that there is an chance that anybody you meet on the Internet is actually a bear? Could you tell us of some people that you think are bears?
I was not quite aware that anyone could be a bear. I did think I knew a particularly Nefarious Bear, but he turned out to be some dude when I added him to my 3DS friend list.
