$100 for any kind of audio equipment isn't even audiophile tier yet. My headphones were 155€ and absolutely worth it.

I said speakers, not headphones. With headphones there's a lot more that cost would factor into, such as design, comfort, and quality speakers to fit into the shell. With computer speakers, design and comfort aren't really an issue, so you're really just paying for parts and sound quality. I remember seeing a highly rated 5.1 Creative speaker system on Newegg a while back, and that was only about $80. I was just pointing out that it's probably unnecessary to spend as much as $100 to get a decent pair of speakers for a computer.

My computer is assembled and works like a thing that is fantastic.

Thanks you technologically savvy folks.

Does anyone know a way to make a key stop registering as being pressed that doesn't involve me spending 70 bucks at Best Buy?

Because my Windows key is apparently constantly registering as pushed down and I can't type full words or even enter my password on my laptop.

You can disable the Windows key.

That's actually really helpful, but like I said I cannot currently log into my laptop. Do you know if I'd be able to use a usb keyboard or something? Would it even be able to pick it up?

You could plug in a USB keyboard, yes, but chances are it would still recognize the Windows key on your primary keyboard as being pushed down. Unless you manage to pry off the key, unplugging the keyboard cable is the only way to disable the built-in keyboard without accessing the device manager, and that requires disassembly.

Also, Windows 7 has a built-in onscreen keyboard but I'm not sure if it's possible to bring it up at the login screen with a keyboard connected.

I actually did physically remove the key.

Looks like I have some unscrewing to do.

EDIT: The onscreen keyboard also has the windows key registering.

Before doing that, check the login screen for a button to enable the onscreen keyboard. It should be there.

Depends on your model, I suppose. I don't have in-depth experience with disassembling a laptop.

Would you look at that, it's my laptop's cousin. At least the chassis is the same. L7xx right?

Good to hear it's fixed.

A bit late but couldn't you have booted to BIOS and disable the keyboard that way?

Assuming the BIOS had that option. I'm not sure if it's standard for all laptop BIOSes.
