Teleportation poses similar issues

Not necessarily. It could be possible to teleport in a similar fashion as a wormhole, by basically pinching space together at two points.

I doubt you could get enough information out of an object to teleport it without having to tear it apart at the atomic level.

Really, teleportation is moving from one place to another without actually traversing the physical space between them. That makes actual teleportation nigh impossible, even if you're broken up and then sent to a new location, you're still traversing the physical distance.

So we kinda have to dumb down the definition a bit when talking about it.

My definition was always getting from one place to another in 0 time.

If you were to go somewhere else in 0 time, wouldn't you by definition be in two places at once?

Hold on to your asses, assholders. Neil deGrasse Tyson is going to have a chance to prove he is truly the Carl Sagan of our time.

Not since he invented time travel.

How many young people that could stand to be inspired to dedicate their lives to science know who Carl Sagan is?

If you enjoy science enough to want to dedicate your life to it, you will know who Carl Sagan is.

And now Neil Tyson is going to inspire people and introduce them to science that they can enjoy. You're assuming people get enough exposure to science as is.

I cant speak for the rest of the world, but when I grew up, science was a mandatory subject in school. I hated it, because Ive never been interested in science in itself, but it was there

Biology and microbiology caught my interest enough to study them at an advanced level - however chemistry and physics do little more than hurt my head a lot.

I'm not sure if engineering and/or mechanics qualify as scientific subjects - but I've always been interested in those.
