It's okay

I'm currently deciding whether or not I should ask my parents to buy me a car. While saving up my own cheddar, which is mostly their cheddar, for a TV and videogames.

I am such a waste of resources

I had to arrange my work schedule around times when I could use my mom's car.

Every paycheck, at least $100 was shoved into the bank to save for a car.

$1750 later, I now own a '91 Volvo that's practically brand new, except for the whole 20 years old thing.
Had one previous owner (this old couple), EXCELLENT condition, all work on it was done BY VOLVO, engine and systems had been upgraded, and it just is really nice.

also it sort of looks like a hearse.

For the condition being LIKE NEW and for having a sunroof (apparently a hole in the roof makes a car more valuable), it could have easily been sold for nearly $3000, probably over.

I bought it from the local constable, who sells used cars as a hobby. He's also a pastor at one of the local hillbilly churches, so he didn't exaggerate the positives and cover the negatives.
