NEW YORK COMIC CON SWAG TRAIN COMING IN!

Image

Action base 1; Really should of been patient and waited for a clear green option I could have ordered online since that color complements the kits I bought much better

Image

3 sets of LEDs which were surprisingly cheaper than online. One set of these usually goes for $20 but at the Bandai booth they went for $14.

Now let's get into the bulk

Image
Image

Master Grade 00 Quanta, I really really like the Quanta and I couldn't pass up on getting the master grade, it's just too cool. I'm going to need to fix some problems it has and order the Sword IV additional parts but other than that, it's amazing.

Image
Image

The behemoth that is Master Grade 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G. Holy crap the box for this is GINORMOUS. And is by far the best iteration of the 00 Gundam (SUCK IT RAISER).

And that's the haul.

Man, for a guy who just got a bunch of sweet Gundam stuff, you don't look very pop flyin'. Were you tired from the trip?

This was taken in the morning and I'm sad looking cause I can't start building till FUCKING TUESDAY AFTERNOON

;____________________________________________________________________________________;

Also those LED units require expensive batteries from a place like target. I'm trying to see if I can get 12 for less than $15. Cause if I had bought from target, a single one is $4.14, and all together would be like $52 so FUCK THAT SHIT.

Need.... entire.....set.....now......

*swoon*

PROGRESS TIME!

Image

Built the head, chest and waist of the 00. Took about 5 hours but hey it's progress non-the-less.

Image

And here's the LED for the head unit which I would show off except this thing requires 2 392/LR41 batteries and a single one of those costs $3.57 at minimum. I want to display this thing with all 4 LEDs (Head, both GN Drives and Buster Sword) but I don't feel like forking over more than $15 on BATTERIES. I need to find them shits for like $.99 then I'll start forking over cash.

These kits, I am not painting, if I did I would be painting each part individually before assembly kinda like my Crossbone X1, which, I will work on that video eventually... Anyways, I'm just panel lining with a gundam marker only for the most part. I tend to cut off from the spru, leave a bit of the gates on then cut them a bit close. then I use a metal file to remove the last bit of excess then I sand it to be very smooth. Then I continue the build, save panel lining for last and then top coat em.

Bump for justise. Finished the 00's base body and Beam Sabers. I'll post pictures when I'm back from work around 11:30 PM EST.

==> Be 11:50pm EST

Alright, back from work now and stuffs and here's the results

Image

Base 00 Gundam Master Grade! The only difference between the base bodies for this one and the 00 Raiser is the knee armor.

Image

Back view of the gundam

Image

Size comparisons with a DS Lite

Image

Motherfucking GN Drives that motherfucking light up but I can't motherfucking show because the motherfucking batteries are expensive as shit.

Image

Beam saber handles can flip out on the back skirts.

Image

Double jointed arm and fairly good range, almost touching his own shoulder.

Image

Here's how far the arm goes out

Image

GN Drives do pretty much everything they need to. They also move up and down from the backpack connection but it's very minor.

Image

Leg posability is phenominal. Know you may say this is nothing but guess what

Image

Master Grade Gundam Limbo Champion.

Image

Basic Master Grade hands, 3 finger trigger finger split with posable thumb

Image

But he comes with an additional hand that's a molded closed fist and the only posability is in the thumb and wrist.

Image

Overall, I'm liking it more than my Crossbone X1 kit. Also yes, he can reach back and grab the beam saber handles while they're swung out.

Stay tuned for the main reason I got this kit. The badass accessories.

==> Finish the 00 Seven Swords G

Image

Jesus Christ... That is imposing. Let's get to it

Image

Here is the GN Short Sword, pretty self explanatory and solid.

Image

Here it is in it's "Pistol" mode

Image

And the best gimmick, the top can be separated and the two parts of the sword are connected via a wire. It's pretty ballin'

Image

Here's the GN Long Sword

Image

Here it is in it's rifle mode. An Addtional handle does pop out but it's tricky to get the other hand to hold it. Other than that, no weight issues

Image

I do not like these GN Katars. They do not peg into the hand solidly. I'm probably going to give these the nail polish treatment.

Image

The Katars come with bonus parts exclusive to the Master Grade. It has new mounts so you can place the katars akin to the Original 00's katars.

Image

You can also use the Katars as punching daggers thanks to these parts

Image

And the glorious return of the GN Surf Board Sheild

Image

You also get a Ray Park handle to join the 2 katars together to Ray Park it up. Unlike the Katar's built in handles, the hands hold it solidly.

Image

Here's the bulky GN Buster Sword and holy shit it's as tall as the Gundam itself.

Image

This is probably the only pose you can pull off with it in Sword Mode due to 2 factors. 1; Poor hand peg connection. 2; Duper Weight. You can try 2 handing it but it's not going to happen. What you need is an action base 2 to support the sword via a small hole used for the shield mode. That's the only way to alleviate weight issues with this thing

Image

Here's the shield mode which is much more solid. But. I. Can't. Show. Off. It's. Light. Up. Gimmick.

Image

And here's where the "G" in it's name comes from, the GN Sword II Blaster

Image

Like the long sword, it has a pop out handle for holding it with both hands but is less trickier to work with.

Image

For sword mode, just bend it up a bit.

Image

Overall the kit is okay. It has it's problems. Mainly that some accessories just won't hold (Understandable for the Buster Sword, Katars are unforgivable), The upper arm to shoulder connection keeps popping off, when all the accessories are mounted they crash into one another for posing (Especially the long sword) and that the pop out shoulder is tricky to work with.

That's my wrap up, all in all, this is a kit you mainly buy for the looks and not for duper posability with all it's weapons. I assume the same of the Raiser except you trade off holding weapons properly for massive weight issues.

00 Qan[T] is up next.
