In my defense, when the Art Thread wasn't stickied people threw a fit over it. Birthday thread though, yeah that's no worries.

Also, I meant to delete Crisp's thread ages ago but forgot but took care of it now. Problem solved now though.

Also, unsticky Introduction Topic, y/n? We hardly get new people to post in it anyway but that's on you guys.

I think the Birthday thread and Introduction topic can stay stickied so people don't make new threads any time it's someone's birthday or someone is new. I know you guys are trying to encourage more new threads now, but it seems pointless to me to make functionally the same thread over and over.

Birthday thread doesn't need a sticky, the people that would make a thread for that are usually seasoned members that already know of the thread or band new forumites that would do it anyway.
Introduction thread I think should stay there, because, as Syobon said, we don't want 100 "Hi guys!" threads.

So it's a contamination zone.

Yeah, threads for new folk being stickied is reasonable. Taboo and birthday can be unstickied, they'll be found when needed. Keep the Art Thread. New people also sometimes like to introduce their artistic efforts too.

I'd say keep Taboo stickied too since I think it's pretty essential in keeping things civil around here, even if it hasn't seen much use.

We kinda debated every argument there is for now already.

Multiple times in some cases. Things should be civil anyway if everyone's following the rules.

In public at least.

I just got a fantastic email from somebody who didn't like what I had to say about gender dysphoria being compared to species dysphoria - but apparently didn't want their true views being seen by anyone else here for whatever reason.

I do so enjoy engaging my argumentative muscles - even in private.

No; I'm probably just being an asshole again.

Whatever. It's early. I'm still in pain from work. This has nothing to do with this topic. I'll stop.

I suppose - truthfully - that those of us here who aren't new, know by now which arguments are circular or will end badly - so really the majority of us here now are loathe to even go near 'Taboo Topics' because of that.

Most of the gender and religion arguments are certainly (disastrously) predictable and I am thoroughly tired of them by now.

So... I dunno... unsticky it I guess?

Heh; Spot the tongue twister; I'm amazed I got those three words of similar sounds so close together in one sentence.

Sorry, I was referencing your location. If soneone wants to argue about bodystuffs they can, but they should be prepared for an argument.

May I suggest a fifth forum to go alongside General, Le Comic, Videogames, and Media Swamp?

:science: Science/Educational :eng101:

We have an engineer who owns the forum and forumites of various scholarly backgrounds. I've seen threads around for software development, homework help, and a slew of posts in the "Unimportant thread" that are actually about fairly important subjects. A single thread for science could get cluttered. The fifth forum could be home to an engineering general thread, software thread, biology thread, etc. Only a few pre-existing threads would need to be moved, but more importantly it's an entire section that could grow substantially away from other general topics like "What color my bodily fluids are today?" and "Guys I've been friendzoned by my Tulpa".

When you introduce something like that it makes me wonder where the general writing thread and art thread should really go.

Arguably a writing thread and an art thread could go in the media sub-forum.
Arguably a writing thread and an art thread could go in an educational sub-forum.
Arguably the writing thread and art thread should stay in the general sub-forum.

I'd rather they stay in general, but creating new sub-forums also throws up questions like this.

Also, I feel like threads in the media forum get less activity than they used to in general - that may have changed since the MSPA/Hamsteak thread was moved there.
