When someone refers to someone else as a minimalist, what are they actually saying?
Because it rarely seems to be "They're a minimalist". More often it seems to be something like "I think they're silly for viewing words as ways to communicate ideas instead of as sounds to make with your mouth."

The apartment we were looking at got sold, so now we're having to widen our search again.

When the beer taste nasty so you can't chase your hard shots with it

Psh, chasers...
I actually don't know what the whole deal with "chasing" hard alcohol with beer is. I've never done it, so I have no frame of reference for how it improves anything.

Hard alcohol makes me gag, depending on the alcohol.

Obviously the cheap shot will, though I did buy a 10 dollar bottle that takes 4 shots to get me to gag, so I need to chase. Using beer however makes you more drunk quicker. If that's your goal, like it usually is mine, then you'd feel it.

I take a good deal of alcohol, I need 6 shots to get to a normal person's 4, so I like to chase hard with beer to just shoot it in quicker.

Ahhh, I see. It might just be because I've always actually liked the flavor of alcohol (so I've never had any problem like that), but I don't see the point in drinking hard alcohol if the flavor is so unpleasant it makes you gag. Like, yeah, drunk effect and whatever, but why not just stick with something you can drink more pleasantly, and enjoy more of it?

What I like is 3 times the price

Good tequila is 30-40 dollars

Cheap rum of the same alcohol content is 10 dollars

tequila is totes grossest. The only liquor that can actually make me sick after 1 shot.



I have Kraken for shots/mixing with things (depends on how much I care about maiming my insides), tanqueray for gin and tonic, and yuengling.


I heartily recommend never trying buttered popcorn vodka.

bodaciously everyone I know hates Kraken.

But it's fair, everyone I know hates tequila too.

But I love it.

Tequila and rum are my children.

Kraken is OKAY
Rum in general is P. GOOD
Gin is MY FAVORITE THOUGH

I've never actually had gin but a lot of people like it and it leaves me really curious about it.

EVeryone I know IRL hates it.

They aren't ENTIRELY wrong, since one of the (if not THE) defining ingredients is juniper berries. But it's super tasty over ice with tonic. Canada Dry tonic water with bombay sapphire or tanqueray is what I usually go for. usually 1/4-1/3 gin and the rest tonic. The percentage of gin increases as the night goes on.

Maaaaan, I don't get why people hate Kraken. I'll drink it neat, out of a juice glass. It's certainly better than anything CM has to offer. And around here, the Captain and Malibu are about the only options besides Kraken.
Gin is another one I'm fond of sipping. Same goes for bourbon. Both mix well with DRY brand lavender soda.
It's not that I dislike tequila, it's that I dislike agave in general. Vegan honey a shit.
Also fond of irish cream over ice, and then this raspberry liqueur that my stepmom bought once. Roommate has a boysenberry thing that tastes almost exactly like it.
Of course, the bulk of my alcohol consumption consists of homemade wine, just because it's cheaper that way, and I already make all my brews run to somewhere between 13-18% anyway.

And holy shit that is some strooooong wine, you're going to have to give me a sample sometime.

tequila is the only liquor i don't like. rum, bourbon and whiskey are my favourites though. so good.

i don't like sour things which is why i'm not a fan of tequila. it has that sour aloe plant taste that i'm just not a fan of. i can, however, tolerate it long enough for shots.

i also hate red wine because it's sour. and beer, because it's gross. anything else though you don't even have to ask just hand it to me i will drink it.


often, i get a mad desire for mead, and it's impossible to find outside of renfair. i'm saving my cheddar up to buy like 5 bottles of it this year and ration it.
