Have you tried googling for the .dll that's faulty according to the report?

What I could find seems to be graphics driver issues, I already tried reinstalling the drivers but before I ran all the scans, I'd be willing to try it again to potentially avoid some more hassle.

A 100% clean Windows installation would probably be the best option at this point, but your symptoms may indicate failing hardware as well. I'd recommend asking a dedicated site like Tom's Hardware first.

Worst case scenario but if that's the case is there a way to do that without the disk? I have a copy but lord knows where.

You can download the appropriate .iso from Digital River's (Microsoft's software distributor) site and burn it on a disc or use a third party program to create a USB boot drive. It's legal as long as you have a license. I have a relevant site bookmarked but I'm not home at the moment.

Edit: Here you go

I looked up the laptop, and it should have a ATI Radeon HD 4250 (correct?). That would surely run the game! You are probably using the integrated GC, which is a lot weaker. All you need to do is switch to the ATI Radeon card

It didn't show up on Speccy, but could I still have it?

Open the start menu, type in dxdiag and press enter and tell me what you see in the display menu.

Also, give me the laptop model.

I've had similar issues with my laptop using integrated graphics instead of the GPU, you could try right-clicking on the game shortcut and find the option that says something like "execute with graphical processor" and select your graphics card instead of integrated. It could also be that your GPU is disabled, in which case you probably need to go into the BIOS to turn it on.

How would I do that for a Steam game?

The CQ62 isn't the model of the laptop, rather it's the series.

According to this site, some models come with the HD4250 while others only have an intergrated Intel chip. Which one's yours?

The model is 219WM I don't see it on that list, I'm pretty sure mom chose the cheapest thing so I don't think I've got one.

Thank you for helping, again...

Not that it matters now but I have desktop shortcuts for my Steam games.

Ugh my internet keeps hiccuping. It'll only be out for a couple seconds maybe, but that's long enough to confuse my online games and stuff. The other problem is, since it's only down for a really short time I can't really figure out why it's down.

I rebooted my router a couple days ago. A while back I checked up on my network driver, and it said they were up to date. Not sure where to look now.

Do other computers connect fine? Do you have another wireless router you could try? Does it happen if you take your computer close to the hotspot?

As far as I know the other computers connect fine, I'll ask my roommate if she's noticed anything weird.

I do not have an extra router. I'd have to call the cable company.

My laptop is always close to the hotspot, it's on the same desk as the router.

This is what a minute of Googling gave me. Download the drivers from that site, unistall the old drivers via the device manager (control panel > devices and sound > device manager > network devices, select your wireless card and uninstall) and then install the new ones. Your wireless will obviously stop working without drivers so download the new ones first.

Edit: here's a newer version: http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless- ... 9&system=6

Thanks man! The update seems to be working fine, we'll see if there are any more hiccups in the future.
