Helpful insight.

Anyone know where I can get the $25 version? I've looked around but only found the $35.
The difference between them is RAM and Ethernet, right?

Add one gigabyte of RAM. after restarting about twelve times, my computer seems to have accepted it.

Speccy says it's 3 anyway

If you had two gigabytes before and then added one gigabyte then yes, you should have three gigabytes. Unless you meant something else?

The laptop keeps randomly disconnecting, and the troubleshooter keeps resetting the wireless adapter.

I downloaded some updates and restarted, hoping the problem magically goes away. I haven't had any disconnects yet so that's a good sign?

The weird thing is though, I looked at my wireless driver, and apparently the manufacturer doesn't have it on its website. One site I saw said there's a newer version, but Windows says there isn't.

For reference its Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter, in case anyone knows of a better place to look for that sort of information.

Edit: nope nevermind its still happening. I think tomorrow I'll look for driver updates. I don't know if that's the problem though. I DO know that the problem is with my laptop, not the router, since my phone can still connect to Wifi just fine.

I picked up Reus from Steam a bit ago, and tried playing it.

It gave me this message:

Have you got a graphics card?

If you do, you've either got bad drivers or it's physically unseated somehow (or simply incompatible with the game)

If not, there's your issue

You need a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card. If your machine is more than a few years old, chances are you don't have one. If you could provide me with the graphics card model, I could check.

The game has pretty steep hardware requirements compared to how it looks based on screenshots. I have a feeling you don't have the minimum 512mb of video memory either.

You don't have a video card and you're just using onboard mobo graphics? Yeah that's going to cause issues. Some games have a DX9 compatibility but chances are this one doesn't.

Yeah, that's an onboard chip that doesn't even have dedicated memory, it uses RAM. I'm afraid you're going to have to skip this game. You could save it till you have a better computer or try your luck at Steam Support to get a refund.

Since I got home from work yesterday skype, aim, windows gadgets and a few administrative tools appcrash immediately on staring up the program. I have no idea whats caused this or where it's come from.
Image
is the general gist of the crashes I'm getting.
I've tried several reinstalls, downgrades to older versions, a system restore, scans with avast, malwarebytes and spybot and I'm currently doing a sfc scan
all of which has done diddly, I'm running out of ideas.

A 100% clean Windows installation would probably be the best option at this point, but your symptoms may indicate failing hardware as well. I'd recommend asking a dedicated site like Tom's Hardware first.
