Okay. Now what brought you to AZ Forums? Did you just not fit in elsewhere?
I used to go to a Sonic forum called SoaH; it's still around but it's kind of gone to shit.
The staff got into a huge pissyfit with "the clique" as they were called, and somehow "the clique" actually overthrew the admins and mod?
I'm still trying to figure out how that worked.
It pretty much killed the site, and I was already sort of inactive, spending more of my time on a different, even shittier Sonic forum (Sonic fangame forum? It was really depressing when you stopped to think about it) and The Megas' forum. I still hung around, though, and eventually there was a thread about webcomics.
It was actually probably a trolling attempt. The whole time, "the clique" had been roleplaying as Homestuck trolls (these aliases, predictably, lent themselves particularly well to their actual actions (I'm saying the were trolls)), so the whole thread was full of people spamming homestuck shit. Some people made legitimate posts, though. One of them was by a dude called Metal Chao, and he recommended AZ and commented that the forums were pretty cool.
Is he even a member here? I've never actually seen him around.
tl;dr some people killed a forum and someone recommended AZ as a cool place.
So, why are you a rock duck?
My mom and dad both work at Renaissance festivals, so I get to go a lot of places.
Three years ago, I think, I was babysitting at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire in Ohio. My mom knew the owner of the fair pretty well, and I think he sort of had the hots for her? It was pretty weird.
He let us stay in his house while we were there (he had two??? He was just living in a dingy shack at the fair itself, we stayed in a really nice one), and one of the days we went down to Lake Erie just behind the house. We found a lot of cool stuff on the beach, but the only thing I remember keeping was a rock I found that looked like a duck.
Later, on SoaH, I started up a thread where I'd draw something random for anyone. I drew a Wii Wheel, a pencil, a pack of gum, all sorts of shit. For one person (who went by Flacco, explaining the original filename of "flaccosduck") I drew the duck rock as an afterthought.
I had a different avatar at the time, which was sort of shitty. When I signed up here, I tried to think of something that would be entirely unique to me.
I looked through my old Photobucket account, and this seemed like the obvious choice.
So you like to draw? What kind of stuff do you usually draw?
I started out drawing Sonic characters, and (I like to think) got pretty good at them.
The problem with that is that it really fucks you over in the long run, it took me forever to be able to draw proportionate humans. I made the transition by getting into Megaman; the classic art was right in between Sonic characters and humans in terms of proportions.
I still mostly draw Megaman stuff, but I've also gotten into Homestuck.
I had a brief stint doing Halo stuff, which sort of overlapped with Megaman when I started drawing redesigns of the robot masters to make them look more robotic. This was also where I finally managed to actually hit humans proportions, I think.
Since then, I've expanded to just about anything asked of me, though I'm still terrible at scenery.
I also tend not to draw graves.
Awesome. So, what forum topic is your favorite and why?
It's hard to say. I think it's a mix between Unimportant Topics, What Makes You pop flyin', and It's Moments Like These You Need Minties.
Between them, they could handle just about any discussion.
I also like the MSPA Thread and the Art Thread, though.
I think most of my posts are in the MSPA thread?
'Kay. One last question: There are plenty of people on the Internet with overinflated egos. What would you do to take them down a couple of notches?
I'd tell them about myself.
My greatness would put a dent in anyone's bloated ego.
