Not really. Teacher's wages must be really attractive to Mexicans.
Me and Vaelor = the most tolerant, non-racist people ever. :awesome:

Well, I live in California, where white people are actually a minority (it was a close call, though). I just learned to keep those sentiments to myself, else I get shot. Whoops, let one slip.

FINALLY!!
back to school, and back to AZ... excuse my absence tho, no one probably noticed.

and i agree with what almost everyone said, there should be an application process to have a kid. EVERYONE be born sterile, and have to get an injection to become un-sterile. people can have all the sex they want, just no kiddies running around.

That sounds uncomfortably close to the plot of Apple Seed (which if you've never seen is a very good movie). But on the other hand not that bad of an idea, going public with it however....

Really, you think "Habits" should be included in a test to determine whether people are allowed to breed? Does anyone know if that's related to genetics in any way, or just a result of how you are raised?

If the point is to improve human stock, then you shouldn't block favourable traits just because of the way someone was raised.

Also, I don't think that rigorous standards would be the best thing. You would have to be really stupid in order to not be allowed to breed.

Otherwise it's not easily provable, and you'd get mass riots (because you'd have large numbers of people being excluded).

Not that I would support this testing. It goes against everything I've learned about tolerance.
I'm talking about bad habits, like excessive drug use, or alcoholism. Basically, habits that would be harmful to the child's well-being.

And fuck tolerance. If people get any dumber they won't even know what the word means. I can be just as tolerant as the next guy if I have to, but I have a VERY low threshold for stupidity and ignorance. Because I fully believe those traits will be the end of humanity if they are allowed to spread unchecked.

yeah, i pretty much have to agree with you guys. i mean, its one thing to be born mentally handicapped, but i just can't stand stupid people who should know better.

for example, in chemistry class, my two lab partners and i have to work next to these 3 kids (who i loathe for the above reason). one day as part of a lab we had to burn shit with an open flame and record observations. so, as we are all doing this lab, one of the kids grabs the flame and holds it up to his mouth, turns to his friends and says "HEY! LOOK AT ME!" the whole time i was hoping he would burn himself. after that towards the end of class as one of my partners was burning this substance, the same kid blows air towards it, sending the burning remains on to my lab partners arm and burning him. then to put icing on the cake, we asked what the hell was his problem, he was all offended like it wasn't his fault.

sorry for the long booty story, but daisies i hate kids/people like that.

ack when i was in school my class was allowed to sit in on a guest speeker who giving her acounts of being in a Consintration Camp. Now i must make you understand that our class was lucky to be there. When it came time for questions one of the students in our class had the nerve to ask, "What does burning flesh smell like?" I don't think I've ever seen so many anger students in my life..

I think I'm going to make up a system of belief.

I don't have a name for it (That's always the hardest part), and I haven't checked if this idea has already been taken, but the premise is that the human race as a whole follows trends, right? If two countries with different political beliefs are next to eachother and become too powerful, they will go to war. This is almost an inevitability. Generalizations like this are common in your average history book.

So, we just take these generalizations and apply them to humans as a species. Of course, no one can really predict what we're going to do next, so you can't really make generalizations, but the importance here is in the word, "inevitability".

So how do you call something you don't know inevitable? I guess you call it destiny, or something. Whatever we do, whatever affect we leave on this planet, is just what humans do. If there were a species with a similar intelligence in a similar situation on another planet, the result would be something of the same.

This belief is just sort of a backup. Sure, you can condemn the world, or you can try to save it. But when it's all said and done, your actions are just a part of the species. So if we end up averting global warming, disarming our nukes, and living as one with nature, then that's what we were going to do all along. But if we all die, then it turns out that that is our destiny. After all, there isn't one individual to blame for the decline of our morals, is there? That's just how society works.

I bet this is really, really confusing. Any questions?
