Since Nite Owl II's outfit vaguely resembles an owl, does that... make him a upstanding member of society?

WATCHMEN DISCUSSION TIME, GO!
Uh. Okay. So.

...

Pros and cons of the movie? Comparison to the graphic novel optional.

I also wanted to throw this out there: some people considered the actor who played Nixon's make-up (specifically the nose) to be so exaggerated that it distracted from what was happening in his scenes. First, I didn't find it distracting because I felt the cartoonish aspect was fitting. Second, when I first saw his nose the first thing that popped into my mind was "Danny DeVito's Penguin". Now, considering that Nite Owl II's movie design is a parody of the 90's Batman suits...? Am I reading too much into this?
Nope! From Wikipedia:
"Richard Reynolds noted in Super Heroes: A Modern Mythology that despite the character's Charlton roots, Nite Owl's modus operandi has more in common with the DC Comics character Batman. (Interestingly, Nite Owl's costume in the 2009 movie is much more Batman-like in appearance than the one from the comics.)"

I actually thought Ozymandias' suit resembled Robin's, but both Robin and Batman had those large, shiny plastic/"metal" 30-minute-abs torsos on their suits.

The Ozymandias costume, with its molded muscles and nipples, parodies the costumes in Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). [78]

I wanted those snow scooters to be in the movie. Also, the movie's snowsuit for Nite Owl II was not puffy enough like the one in the comic. Thrid, I wanted the big monster.

I know it is coming on its own dvd but I would like to see the Tales of the Black Freighter in the movie itself.
I actually did not want the giant alien squid. That, I felt, would not have made a successful transition from the comic to the big screen, and looking at it from the movie-maker's point I don't know how an audience who's unfamiliar with the material would handle a giant giant faux-alien squid developed by artists and writers and scientists from the brain of a dead psychic.

But I am excited for Black Freighter!
