You can go to nVidia's website. They have a feature where they can scan your PC and then give you a download to the best driver for what hardware you have.

Yeah, since your card IDs as a 310m, the site should give you the laptop version.

Also, you could try the manufacturer's website to see if they have drivers for the specific laptop. They might be out of date, though...

Can someone who knows PCs very well grade this system?

Found it while doing a web search for high-tier game/video rec. systems. Seems pretty good, to my limited knowledge of hardware (which is limited to BIG NUMBER MEANS BIG GOOD GET THAT ONE).

Looks fine to me. A little more powerful than what I've got I think.

What will the SSD be used for? If it's just for Windows, then that's fine, but if you plan on installing games on it, you might consider a 120gb or 180gb version.

I use my 120gb SSD for games. The main improvement you would see would be reduced loading times.

How reduced? I mean, I've got no problems with spending 10 seconds here and there waiting for the world to load.

Also, every few days or so my graphics card will crash for 2-5 seconds, my screen will go black, and then turn back on and a message will pop up that basically says "OOPS Nvidia just shat itself sorry" and everyone continues on as normal. It never damages anything, it's just a nuisance and I like complaining about things so

That happened on a regular basis with me for WoW. Helped me quit it cold that's for sure.

Much faster, depending on the game of course. You could probably find some benchmarking results between a regular HDD and SSD. Here's one I found.

About the GPU issue, I've had that happen when my card's clock rates were too high but I doubt you've been overclocking yours so the prime suspect would probably be overheating. Download MSI Afterburner (or any other GPU overclocking/monitoring too) and look at the card's temperature levels and compare them with the temperature levels others have gotten for the same card. Plus the obvious, check that you have the latest drivers and clean your computer from the inside if you haven't done it lately.

Not sure if you're talking about loading times making you quit or graphics cards being shite making you quit.

The blacking out helped me quit. Especially since the issue was several months old and neither nVidia or Blizzard tried fixing it despite it affecting the entire chipset, which spanned several series.

Wasn't temperature I can tell you that. My card has always been within optimal temps.

I got most of my GPU crashes in WoW as well. Haven't played it with my current card though.

Whenever I try to start up Team Fortress 2, it has to validate the files first. Is this right? Or do I have to do something to make it stop with that?
