a'ight you got two glasses and one of them bottles of cristal, ya dig? so the glasses, thems how much energy you gots in total. one of thems glasses be how fast you done goin through space in yo body (3rd dimenshizzle), the other done be how fast you doin through time (4th dimenshizzle). you only gots so much cristal, so if you puts all yo energy in that glass for yo speed, you not movin through time no more, boy (you be movin at the speed of LIGHT, my brothah, and you can't get no faster than DAT). contrappostolly, you put all yo cristal all in time, you standin perfectly still in the middle of nowhere, boy. now lets go on sayin that you be goin through space and time at the same speed. both yo glasses be half full (or half empty ya dig hahahahaHAH), but if you go faster, you gots to pour some o dat cristal from the time glass into the speed glass. you want to slow down, you gots to pour some o dat speed into dat time. so when you doen get goin faster, you be movin slower through time, and vice vespa.

so lets say you and yo boy be floatin in space, all black with not one daisies light to tell you which way's up. you got yo watch on yo wrist and it sayin half pas' fizzle. now you friend got the same time on his watch, but he gets in a rocket sled and shoots da fug off into space (without acceleratin because dat shit's complicated), leavin yo black booty behind. so while you floatin perfectly still in space he's off goin half the speed of gottamn light. so his cristal is split equally into both glasses, while your crystal be all up in the one time glass, since you aint usin none in your speed glass.

so this boy ghost rides the rocket round the block an hour n comes back like 'yo', cept his clock says six and yours says six thirty. whys that, son? cuz yo boy's time glass be half full cuz he put some of dat shit in his speed glass, buy yours be at 100% capapacity, so he gone half as fast as you through time. so whiles for yo booty an hour passed, fo his rocket speedin booty only half an hour done passed. yo boy done changed his time dilation relative to yo black booty by gettin in that fast booty rocket, ya dig?

Also, if I'm not mistaken, that was similar to how Mass Effect worked, right?

I thought that they actually made things within them have an effective mass of zero? That just seems like lazy scifi to me because aside from "your car is impossible to control" and "we can make gravity happen" they didn't seem to put any thought into the effect this would have on gravity.

This is a neat though, though. I'd be interested to see what happens to thinks which are inside the bubble but outside the ship.
