I know it looks fake but so does every other siphonophore - look at a portugese man o' war, a rhizophysa or salp.

The ocean is a weird place.

The word we got from blanco and blanc was "black" and not "blank"? Blank makes a lot more sense for white than black does.

Either the American language is more retarded than I had previously thought it was, or that guy didn't think that point out as thoroughly as he should've.

Etymology: blackvs blank

While black did originate from bhleg-, we got if from Proto-Germanic blakaz instead of Old French blanc, where blank originated from. They do both trace back to bhel though.

Would you rather I call the English language retarded, or the American language? I said American because I know that most of the American language was butchered from proper English.

It's all English, anyone who says otherwise hasn't studied linguistics.

There's probably an American dialect, not to mention regional accents and everything, but they are very clearly the same language.

Didn't you know that English people have a different word for black?

Except Blank and Black are British English words, meaning they derived their meanings before America was even a thing.

If you're going to call American English retarded for etymology of these words, you have to call British English retarded for the same reason.
