depending on how old your car is, you might actually have a tire kit in your trunk in the compartment your spare tire is in. under the rug thing in my trunk there's a tire iron, a jack, and good instructions on how to change a tire. it came in handy one time i was driving in some heavy fog and hit a curb hard enough to blow my tire out :T

Thanks guys.

My mother came to my apartment today (she lives a little less than an hour away) and she put air in my tire so that I could go to a garage. My previous tires were too worn out anyway so I had them all replaced.

That is one of the reasons I never bothered with a license or car, I got enough shit needing constant maintenance to not spontaneously implode.

Sometimes I wish I was in a more walking-friendly area so I wouldn't have to worry about having a car.

Unfortunately my part of Texas is the land of sprawling suburbs and the summers are like walking on the surface of the sun.

I genuinely genuinely can not stand my older sister and her boyfriend. She's living with us again because her boyfriend's dad kicked her out of his house, and she just threw the biggest fucking fit in the world because I wouldn't pay for her boyfriend's food (who is in his 40's btw) when we went out today. How fucking pathetic can you be to just assume someone half your age is going to pay for your food when they have already made it clear that they hate your fucking guts? It would be one thing if he was someone that was just falling on hard times, but he actually has a job that pays more than mine, he just puts his paycheck in his nose and veins. fucking scum. God daisies. Ruined what was otherwise a decent day.

There's a lot to love about spending a day at the range, but let me vent about a couple of pet peeves that seem to pet my peeve every single time I go.

Lazy motherfuckers who don't clean up their spent casings or bring their target stands back after they're finished shooting. It takes a minute, tops, to take a broom and sweep up all your shit, and the range officer doesn't feel like walking down range to haul your stands back.

I'm also tired of the dudebros who love bringing their girlfriends or girl friends to come shoot with them, and then laugh at their inexperience. That's a great way to make sure a new shooter isn't having fun. When you hand someone who has clearly never held a gun before your 15-pound amalgamation of whatever bits and baubles you thought were cool enough to slap on a Saiga AK, they're not going to have a good time. I clearly heard her complaining about how heavy it is, dude, and she's scared to pull the trigger because she knows it's going to knock her backwards. Get her a .22 and teach her properly.

Semi-related, my roomlord gave me his latest AR pistol project and a few rounds to make sure it worked. It didn't. Fired once, didn't cycle, and I had to use a rubber mallet to get the bolt open and extract the round. I tried a few rounds later and it didn't get stuck again, but the bolt never cycled. Got it home to let him figure it out. Turns out the motherfucker put the gas tube on upside-down. Come on.

I decided to audition for my high school play a month and a half ago. Yesterday the performance we were supposed to have was canceled because the lead actor hurt his foot (to the point he couldn't run and i noticed a small limp) among numerous other issues going on (it was the day after the Las Vegas shooting, another actor just broke up with his girlfriend, another seemed visibly depressed). We decided to have a quick rehearsal since we were planning to make cuts to the script after performance anyways.

In this midst of this, this girl just decided to leave in the middle of rehearsal. Without telling anyone. Said she needed to go the office to make a phone call and never came back. We spent like 20 minutes looking for her.

Skip to today and rehearsal comes. Teacher asks why the hell she wasn't there. Her excuse was "I was really angry about something so i decided to leave for the safety of my classmates"

This girl, who can't even fake anger on stage. This girl, who has the physical stature of a fucking twig, expected us to believe that she was going to deck a dude if she stayed any longer.

It was so obviously bullshit. You could see that everyone else knew it was bullshit. Teacher obviously didn't chew her out because he wanted to keep his actress.

This chick is the only one who seems so uncommitted to this whole thing. Everybody else is committed and ready despite some of the shit going on in their lives. She's the only one who's actively argued a note given to her by the director. She's the only one who, at the last minute, said she was going to have trouble coming to the performance, despite numerous reminders about when it was.

Everybody's been getting tired of her shit for a while now and somebody's going to go off on her sooner or later.

Woke up two hours ago to have it out with a roach in my room and now I can't fall asleep again.

The new project I've been on for about three months at work is just about over and the customer is just now looking at it and mentionning that we have to pass automated tests they just now introduced. The configuration they are using is moronic and it flags just about everything as a major issue (like the absence of a useless empty constructor in classes, when not including one is exactly the same because Java adds one by default). It arbitrarily decides that some parts of the code are too complicated and demands that we rewrite it. The fun part is that the parts of the project that come from the customer's old projects and that they forced us to copy verbatim do not pass their own automated tests so we have to do more work to fix their shit. It would have been okay if we had been aware of these arbitrary criteria from the start, but the project is almost over now and we're finishing our last tests and fixing last minute bugs and they're just now making us rewrite half of it for absolutely no gain because their automated tests flags as "critical brain overload and vulnerability" perfectly legitimate language features anyone with half a semester in programming 101 should be able to understand.
The codebase is tiny and the automated tests thing found over 1400 """issues""". I brought it down to about 400 but man.
At the same time as they first mentioned the automated tests, they also brought up concerns about some code and demanded that we redo it more terribly just so it looks like the shitty old projects they made themselves and that they are paying us to rewrite. We are paid to rewrite an identical application, we can't fix bugs or improve anything and we can't write it better, so what's the point exactly? This is a government-owned company so our taxes are paying for that nonsense.
I was also asked to justify the way I implemented a thing that reduces 144 (I counted them) different logical paths into a few simple lines (actually the simplest, cleanest and most effective way possible) because it wasn't entirely straightforward upon a shallow reading of the source code, because we can't have nice things and fuck me for thinking being a programmer means I'm expected to do some programming.
