RedLetterMedia created a parody series called the Nerd Crew Podcast to make fun of the particularly stilted and forced "nerd culture" culture podcasts that exist on YouTube and elsewhere. That in and of itself I like, but it seems like people have latched on to a lot of the catchphrases and quotes from the videos, using them to dismiss anything Star Wars related created by the media or anybody genuinely excited about Star Wars in general. There's something particularly irritating and sad in the way that something intended as a parody is now being used as a tool to lower the overall level of discourse surrounding a piece of media or a broader topic. I've also seen the "I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT" and "ATSTs!" quotes used in discussions about big Hollywood and its current destructive pursuit of cinematic universes for every property under the sun, with nothing of real substance added alongside them, which is also pretty bad. I understand that not every online discussion has to be lengthy treatises and essays about this or that, but a constant backslide toward using snarky jabs and dismissals isn't beneficial either.

It has been raining for a week straight and it needs to fucking stop.

Just send the rain up to Tennessee. We'll take good care of it.

I formally request that rather than send the rain to Tennessee, you send it over to Colorado instead so it isn't as dry and hot as it is now. If not, then send for some mid-70s temperatures and light drizzles a few times per week.

Apparently they're like sleeping on a bed of unicorn jizz and glitter and will magically cure all back problems. And from what I can tell from their adds, the beds are all covered in whole, in-shell raw eggs. so if you want a health fad diet you can do that, too.
