"Could one of them have fled to Re-Tail? Maybe the other chased after them, and then dragged the body back to the river."

"It also doesn't explain why both Whitney and myself didn't see a fight take place, despite being near the alleged crime scene around the time of Bud's death."

"Hmm, that is true. But maybe that's just where the witness dragged the body to? Would we expect to see blood there if someone dragged Bud there?"



"Isn't it possible that the murder took place in such a short span of time that you missed it? Joe wasn't in his house when you went to go investigate, so he's still be outside. It's likely that you were gone by the time Joe and Bud appeared."

"If Joe really wanted to bury the body, wouldn't he have looked for it a little more? Seems a bit careless of you just to suppose the body's out of sight, out of mind. Something's not fitting together." Diana casts a suspicious glance at Joe.

"Wait a sec--" her eyes widen.



"Could it be that the scuffle didn't just happen around the riverbank, having moved to a point of the concrete near Re-Tail? Surely there wouldn't have been soft enough mud to keep their tracks on the route there."

"I'm sorry to say this, but OBJECTION!"

"The ground was soft and muddy enough to where my and his footprints are still in it. I highly doubt that that a fall towards that ground would damage his head that badly."

"That was an inconsitency from the start, mrmpht! We still don't even know if the riverbank is where it took place!"

"Both Coco and I suggested that the fight did not only take place along the riverbank."

"But if the fight dragged on all the way up there and Bud died from hitting the concrete, while Joe intended to bury the body, why was the body back at the scene of the crime right next to his house? Surely if we were going to go bury or dispose of it, he'd know where it was, wouldn't he?"

Punchy appears lost in thought.
"Isabelle, was it raining at midnight last night?"

"It was, but at that time, the storm was beginning to weaken and move out."

"Hm... I was thinking that maybe if Bud really died at Re-Tail and his body was dragged, the blood trail would have been washed off by the rain, mrmpht..."

"It'd probably be too hard to see a trail of blood on the ground with it being so muddy and wet last night. The fact that there was blood on the concrete probably meant that the rain wasn't enough to wash it off into the grass and mud, and it can't be absorbed into the concrete to hide it."

"I...have a confession to make."
Diana's face evens out, and she places her hands behind her back.

"I said I was out last night. Though...I left a few details out before--It wasn't the best move, I admit, but it might have led to my suspicion. I saw the end of what happened last night."

'What happened Diana?"

"Sounds like it's time for more testimony."

Pierce turns to Isabelle.

"Don't you agree, sport?"
