I don't really have a video to present or a neat science story, but I do have some sciency questions to ask.
The unit is certifying in nonlethal force, which involves everyone getting tazed, and sprayed. Given external research, I've found that the active ingredient is capsaicin, which acts as a nasty irritant for both food and pesky rapists. I've discovered it's a hydrophobic fatty acid which would, by the best sciency logic I could muster, make it fat soluble, or soluble by pretty much anything ELSE that hates water, including oils, and detergents. I'm guessing at least one or more of you fine gentlemen have also heard of the effectiveness of milk in such situations, given a special protein. My main question is if this is at all pertinent to the situation I/we will be facing come the weekend? They're not going to be rubbing habaneros in our faces, it's been established as police grade OC spray (even though the C does stand for "capsicum"). I don't know if they put some fancy shit in there to make it where milks and oils don't do shit for the intended burning sensation (so the criminals don't get wise an' shit), I wouldn't put it past them. So can anyone confirm/deny my pseudo science, either from less pseudoey science of their own and/or personal experience? It'd be pretty silly for me to to get sprayed, rub myself with veggie oil, and then have it do jack all for the burn.
Please and thank you.
