So I went into work with my dad today and put in an application; the place will hire anyone as long as they're willing to learn and take the training courses. I got the interview right there and he said that the training process for newcomers will start around this Friday and that "we'll keep in touch". I'm pretty confident about this, because of how easily they took the application and interview. I'm not sold that I have the job until I actually get it though, but since my dad's relatively well-liked around the office and the company's been losing install techs I have a pretty good feeling.

i work at a super small marketing company. like it's just me and my boss in the office except like once a month when another woman who is friends with boss' wife comes to do stats. she's a stay at home mom and works a few hours a week from home.

i do pretttty much everything. make sites, shoot and edit video, do stats, directories, write articles, update sites and newsletters....anything.

i also am part of a two-man indie game studio with my fiancé. we make games. we haven't released anything but we will by december so keep an eye out

and within the next two years we're both heading to austin to get in the industry for a few years til we can afford to not have to work at a studio and can support ourselves with our own games c:

So there's this place that hires people under the table. I would get six bucks an hour, no chance of benifits, no tax returns, and they may not hire me because I'm a guy.

The place is immune to legislation because it brings in so m :colbert: uch business.

It's called The Dairyette, basically a local "business" version of sonic.
they don't "hire" people

I can guarantee if the IRS caught wind of this they wouldn't care how much business it brings in.

I honestly think it could improve the whole town if it were replaced with a sonic.

I'm a cashier why would you pull me away to do cleaning and reshop?

Also my poker face comes in real handy after I see a bunch of little shits come screaming down an aisle knocking things off the shelves and generally ruining my work. I hate kids, put me back in the electronics section where I can actually talk to people.
