Summoning up as much will as you can muster, you force the fear from your mind and immediately pick up speed. Within seconds you can see the end of the hall!

But as you get closer, you can also see the stone door is closed. A quick glance behind tells you the darkness continues to give chase.

You reach the closed door in the next moment and begin to hurriedly search for some sort of opening mechanism. But you can't find anything, and resolve to turn around and face your doom. One by one the torches go out and the darkness rushes for you. Five torch pairs remaining. Four. Three. Two. One...

The darkness stops at the last pair, a solid wall of black the torch's light can't penetrate. On closer examination, it seems almost liquid. It also doesn't look like it's coming any closer, but that could just be a ruse.

What do you do?

The instant you touch the darkness you are sucked in like a morsel of meat. A few moments later the torches reignite and you are nowhere to be seen.

You have lost.

It is Exeres's turn.

You stand in a cold, empty stone room, barely the size of a walk-in closet. There are no openings anywhere, and the only feature of note is the message carved into one of the walls, blazing with white light that cuts through the darkness.

"You are the One. The One of many. Long or short, your life is at an end. If you seek to live on, if you wish to see the life after, or if you desire to rest eternal, defeat the trials set before you.

You are the One. The One of many. What means will be left to you."

The carving shudders and retreats into the ceiling, revealing a long passage with torches set into the walls. The end of the passage is hidden in darkness. The first choice is to be made. Step forward? Or stay back?

Just going to say that for the first few posts of any person's turn, they'll go by in seconds since you're just copying and pasting. After Bacon, the only entertainment has really come from how other people react to things.

I was honestly not expecting the hallway to be accumulating this kind of body count. It's pretty hilarious.

And yeah, I'm copy-pasting the beginning for now because no one's been able to successfully clear the hallway yet. That'll change as the game gets underway. Blitz got close, then he poked the darkness and earned a special DM comment next to his death in the Tally as well as what is currently the stupidest move done in any of the three games. Prior to this it was someone putting out the torch at the start themselves.

Also can I submit my new character anytime, or should I wait for everyone to die?
