Just looked up my exact processor, Intel Core i7-2620M Processor, It has 2 cores, 4 threads, 2.7 GHz clock speed, turbo at 3.4GHz. I'm thinking it will handle anything processor wise, and the rest of the specs are good. This is a bit overkill.

You could get buy with something that has the power of an i3 I would think, and the game will require at least 1g of Ram, maybe more, so to be safe 2g, the graphics card(if you want max quality) would have to be amazing, but really you don't even need the Nvidia 1g for it, but I would advise something around that good. Hard drives are nothing to worry about any more, desktops have craploads now, and even the cheaper ones have over 500g normally. I'm not an expert on this, so take other people advice also, plus i tend to go a little above when it comes to games, seeing as how I got this laptop instead of a lesser spec laptop.

We went to a computer shop today to price some computers. I asked to look at a gaming computer and they had one they had made

it was pretty insane. the videocard was at least six inches long, ventilation system for cooling down things, 4Gigs of ram, he said it would definitely be able to run skyrim. But the shop looked kinda shady and If I'm going to spend 900 dollars on a computer, I would rather make sure it's one that is professionally made

Paco you really need to change your attitude. and Zang, yea buy it at a place where you can get tech help, warrenty etc. you dont want that thing breaking on you and have no warrenty on it.

Why, Zang, my fine fellow,

It would shame me not to inform you of knowledge that has aided me greatly in the past, that knowledge being that computational devices of the highest caliber can be acquired for a mild sum if purchased as components and assembled by your own hand.

I dearly hope that this information is a boon to you, what with your troubles of late.

Best wishes.

Haha, I love ya Zang.

And don't worry, I have the same problem. Everyone keeps telling me "Dude, go to Newegg and build your own computer. You'll save like five hundred bucks" but I'd just screw it up.

Making your own computer is a great idea if you know how and trust yourself enough not to make a big mistake, you also need the time. I would rather buy a pre-made computer and not risk anything, plus they have full protection and everything. Make sure you go to a trusted place and get a warranty, much safer. Plus tech can never really be trusted 100%. I personally only buy expensive tech stuff new, with a warranty, and from a trusted place.

don't worry you can also spend a reasonable amount of cheddar on a prebuilt and get half of what it's worth.

I built my first computer at 16 man (and still using it), there are very clear and concise tutorials everywhere, try that and go here for questions or advice. You don't really need to know anything to do that, just do a good amount of research to get the best value and follow instructions carefully. You're not gonna get experience in computer building without trying it in the first place.

why, yes, yes I am.

honestly it would probably be better off and run better if I just got a pro gaming computer made by people who do this for a living.

That's just paying extra for something anybody could do himself or herself.
