Send Squirlte to examine the package, if it is something important, he may carry it, if it isn't, tell Squirtle to water gun all over the floor so that everyone who may try to follow you end up sliding.

Take the multitool from the secret compartment in your Pokeshoes to cut through that bush. Fuck HMs.

Send out Charmander and start a forest fire, then when everyone starts running around screaming, have Squirtle put it out. You'll be hailed as a hero!

Go back get the package and open it!

Get one of your pokemon to get that package and bring it back to you and open it.

And now you've learned a valuable lesson as to why it died.
