I thought that movie was stupid, but after watching that I see that it's stupid and also hilarious. I'm totally watching that when I get a chance.

It's one of Finland's most expensive movies yet its budget was something along the lines of one hundreth of some AAA Hollywood movies'.
I should probably get around to watching it sometime.

I was hoping for a hint of alien Hitler but that still looked hilarious.

As a musician, people like this honestly annoy me.

Why would you claim that you love to do something if you're not even going to bother learning the fundamentals?

The fundamentals are important, but as long as you can put out a good product it dons't matter too much how you got there.

e: My mistake, Tallarico's studio provided some sound effects for Prime in early development. He didn't actually compose anything. He seems to be a sound designer more then anything else. Still.

It's nice that he makes good music, but not learning sheet music doesn't make him a better man. It's fine if he doesn't want to, a bit weird since it's his job perhaps, but it doesn't change anything about his music either.

I'm not denying the quality of his work, it just seems like a kind of smug approach, I guess. To me it's kind of like saying "Oh, you had to learn the basics? Look what I can do without that crap."

But whatever, it's not really that important.

I don't know if the man himself is smug or not. I'd think you'd have to know the man personally to judge weather he was vain when it came to his work or not. He could be, but he may also just not know how to read sheet music.

I also never meant to imply he was an inherently better man because of his position, just that it was kind of cool that he had his set back and still produces award-wining audio.

A setback/handicap is generally something you can't help. Learning sheet music isn't that hard.
