Krom to Cade:
"Or, we could just take the items we were promised."

Well, since I'm new to this game I have no idea what's balanced but I'd appreciate any of these: better reflex save, extra spell slots, bonus feat, access to a third domain or a wisdom bonus.

Technically you only stopped a few people of the group with no evidence that their leader was there, and is likely still in the forest plotting the next attack. But I suppose you can try a robbery at the auction.

Okay, Hide in plain sight.
I guess you can take another domain, and I may give a reflex bonus at future levels.

Shinsa and Blanche head on down to the auction. You take your seat and your little signs you raise to bid more. Lord Houton steps out to the stage in his rolling swivel throne. "Thank you all for coming here today. First, I would like to announce the new guards for our city, since the previous ones were killed last night, we have quickly gathered up the best of the best to guard our town!" He pulls back a curtain, revealing, as Shinsa recognizes, nearly 80% of them had bounties. "With this I have no doubt our city will be safe at night. The auction will begin momentarily, in the meantime, please look over the featured items for today."
The listings for today's auction:
Gold Sniffing Gophers
Hover Bike
Mystery Box
Wrist-Mounted Alchemy Sprayer
An outdated police cruiser
Lightning Sword
Ring of Invisibility
Faberge Egg of Memories
Bubble Pipe of Sophistication
And a mystery item to be revealed at the end of the show.

Shinsa just smirks and thinks to herself, "If they're this stupid I should have just let the town burn."

(Hmm, I'm liking either the Lightning Sword or Ring of Invisibility.)

I AM THE NIGHT.

Shame I'm broke, some of those items look interesting.

Going to keep busy making sure we're more or less ready to head out whenever the fancy strikes us.

(I'm interested in the alchemy-sprayer, but I want to know more specifically how it works)

Also Shinsa is not aiding any dumbasses who try robbing the auction with a legion of bountied men present.

(Oh, right, paladin. But really I was just throwing the suggestion out there. I was hoping someone would respond and try to talk Krom out of it or not, rather than assume it's his course of action. Krom will do what people what his friends tell him, he just has a bad sense of ownership.)

Ah, right, I forgot, it's the next day, eat you 1/3 ration and such. Yes Krom, you are no longer fatigued and you regain your spell slots, as do the others.
Anyway, even if you don't participate, tell me if you are contributing your gold to the others' bidding, and count up how much total. Ones you say you are interested in are highlighted.

"The first item up for grabs are these gen-u-ine gold sniffin' gophers. That's right, it could be underground or invisible or beyond the mortal realm, these babies will find them guar-an-teed. Bidding begins at 60 gold!" Already, someone in the crowd jumps to the bid.
"Our next item is this magical hover bike! That's right, never crash because of a bumpy road again, it floats! Pedaling still required. 100 gold!" Someone raises their sign to bid.
"Next up, the mystery box. What's inside? You'll only find out by buying it. 20 gold." The gold sniffing gopher guy also bids on this.
"Next, latest in orcish arson technology, this wrist mounted sprayer. Just supply the alchemist fire or what have you and go to town. No more of that inefficient throwing. 50 gold." All the guards raise their hands at once. "Good thinking guards, wouldn't want this getting in the wrong hands."
"This wagon, though no longer in use, is still as good as the day she was built. Room for 12 prisoners, 4 front seats for aspiring sheriffs and deputies, and a light on top. It even has a button to make your mules make a siren sound! 50 gold!"
"This sword has been passed down for generations in my family, and I am hesitant to part with such a beauty. I bid 800 gold!"
"This is just a ring of invisibility as far as I can tell. Eh, 400 gold." The guards, again, raise their hands in unison.

"This egg has the ability to retrieve any memory, lost by any means, or remove any fake memories you may have formed. And it's a beautiful centerpiece. This is real cubic zirconia on the sides, you know. 1000 gold."
"A bubble pipe, said to be the sister to another fancy item. It has no magic by itself but it blows bubbles! 1 gold!" Multiple people raise their bidding sign.
The mystery item will be revealed after bidding on these.

(How exactly does this work? Do we make a bid and then you post if someone counterbids and then we decide if want to bid even more and so forth?)

800 gold for the sword means no one in the party can get it.

Actually, I'll probably head down to the auction also. Going to see enough of the mules in coming days, don't need more of them now.
