OpenDocument is supported by Microsoft Office since 2007 and a standard since 2006.

So yesterday I spilled tea on my laptop, I tried as fast as possible to turn it over and get it all out, then took a blow dryer and tried to clean it out the best I could.

This morning I turned it on and it was making really horrible beeping sounds as I was booting up up, and it wouldn't go past the LOADING WINDOWS sign.

My dad just told me to put it in a bag of rice but Im honestly terrified that my computer is fucking broken beyond repair.

can anyone tell me whats going on or what I can do?

ps also it was able to boot up properly after I cleaned it last night, but the keys weren't working, it only started the weird beeps once I booted it up this morning.

You probably fried the computer by turning it on. Blowdryer doesn't work like that, so there was likely still liquid left, and honestly the heat is incredibly bad for electronics. Ruins them faster than anything else.

Rice is absorbent so you can use it to soak up the liquids, and then you can easily flip the keyboard to shake out the rice granules (with a bit of force). However, as Madican said, when you turn on the computer, that fires up the circuitry and is what causes short-circuiting. Try popping out your keyboard and rice-ing the circuitry, then putting it back in and see if the keys work.

Message from Willow: Did all that and the keys still don't work. The computer turns on and everything work. It's just when I press keys that it makes weird beeping sounds. Some keys work and some don't.

Well then you're S.O.L. (hurr)

If you have a USB keyboard that would let you use your keyboard again but then you'd have to sacrifice portability

You have to leave the laptop fully submerged in rice for a very long time to get any effect. Six hours minimum, preferably an entire day.

Yeah it sounds like just the keyboard that's messed up. You'll have to use a USB one for now unless your manufacturer offers replacement parts and stuff.

At this point it's probably a better idea to take it to a technician and see if anything else is messed up, and if its repairable.

I just got windows 7, and you may have seen me complaining about not being able to play any of my video games anymore.
Do I have to reinstall my drivers as well? I'm confident that I have the direct x applications appropriate to the video game.

So I'm pricing out my PC upgrade, and I figured that I have enough parts to make an inexpoensive gaming machine to sell to offset some costs

what would people be willing to pay for this:
Registered (real not pirated) Win7 Ultimate 64-bit
16 GB RAM
Radeon 6970HD video card
FX-8120 8 core liquid cooled CPU
320GB hard drive
packed into a mid-tower case with a DVD-ROM drive

any thoughts?
(not an ad, just asking what I should charge)

I'm upgrading to:
Radeon 8970HD (when it comes out)
and
FX-8350 with a bigger liquid cooler

Why would you even buy Radeon?
Get Nvidia.

AMD does better for bitcoin mining and CAD rendering, which I use it for
it just happens to run every game I through at it at max settings

I'm thinking 700 USD for the whole rig
