At roughly 6:30 P.M., Pacific time, this Sunday, there will be an annular solar eclipse visible throughout the southwest States. An annular eclipse is where the moon is farther from the Earth than normal, and doesn't completely block out the Sun, resulting in a ring of light around the moon.

Rather annoying that the eclipse was best viewed in the city I just moved FROM to enjoy the summer with family. Might as well though, I'd completely forgotten about it until I came and saw this thread anyway. It's probably better that way even, I'd have been kicking myself had I been in a prime viewing location and forgot to go looking for it.
