Hm, I'm not really sure about what I'm drawing now anymore, or if I can even be considered a bad artist by the last pages.
Last week, or two weeks ago, I don't remember properly, I decided to read trough around 18 pages of the comments of that famous parody/statement picture "Totally Original the Hedgehog". After that I was already a bit confused, or rather feeling a bit ashamed, as most of the stuff I drew since I picked up drawing again after 4 years is most of the time fan art (I admit that nearly everything was a request, but still).
And now after the last few pages of this thread, I don't know at all what I should believe. I enjoy drawing, and it just happens a lot that what I do is fanart. Which I also enjoy, otherwise I wouldn't do it at all. And for OCs for an already existing thing, I happen to have quite a lot because my imagination wanders off when I play games. Non of them are something like a cheap recolor though, mind you. For example I have one for FF7, it is a character by itself, no replacement, doesn't mess up the story, bla bla blubb.
I do have my own stuff, sure, but I just didn't pick it up in the last time like at all, but I planned on doing it soon or atleast once a week so I stay in touch with it.
All in all, I won't stop drawing fan art mainly because I enjoy drawing a lot in the last time, and I just happen to pick these themes. I do see every single piece as a learning experience though. Now I will just feel bad about every produced piece because fan art seems like a turd thing to do.
