So I guess now I'm in the uncomfortable position of having no one believe anything I say in my defense because of how poorly I've played this game.

I cannot reveal my role, however all I can say is that whoever kept me alive, I am most grateful. I just hope that I can survive another night. I don't want them coming after me again! I can't die after all I've made it through thus far! We need to kill this roleblocker before he targets whoever is giving out bulletproof vests and guns lest our chances of surviving the night dwindle!

That's the thing. I don't know. I have a feeling I was targeted due to me saying I had an "important role" a while back. The fact that I was both beaten up AND marked for death can attest to that. Perhaps they're also targeting me because I struck a nerve or maybe hit on a good theory they didn't want to pursue. The point is, the mafia saw me fit to be an important target, and whether this be true or not we have to figure out why.

I have strong feelings about a few suspects but at this point but I'm hesitant. With this close of a margin between mafia and innocent it can be so easy to make a wrong choice and have mafia back it up with lies and plausible nonsense.

You don't have to provide evidence. This is a really stupid thing to lie about. If you really were attacked, then someone protected you. And since I was also given a vest, I know that Monobear messages you when that happens. I assume the same thing happens with all night actions. In that case, if you're lying, it would be easy to verify that you're not being honest. Therefore, if you can honestly say that you were attacked and protected, then a simple yes is enough.

I will say it only if YOU say that monobear informed YOU that you got a vest. We go down together or not at all IF at all which I doubt but if you're positive there are no penalties for saying that I would like you to humor me at least by doing that if that makes sense friendo.

A little late to verify, since this was two nights ago, but yes, Monobear told me that I was given a bulletproof vest. I have not been attacked since then.
