Sorry, its something like 75% of people globally are intolerant, but a majority of White people are not, which is why dairy stuff is everywhere in the western world. All I meant was that it's not an uncommon or weird thing.

I thought most cheese has a tiny amount of lactose, but I'm no expert. I know can definitely digest cheesy things better than say, a milkshake, since its just a dairy product mixed with milk. Anyway, even if you're not lactose intolerant different foods can affect you in different ways, so it's good to take note of what you're eating to see what's causing the problem.

is the pill something that you can start taking suddenly and then come off suddenly or is it one of those things that has to be in your system for a long time to work?

it takes two weeks i think to become fully protected but you might go 4-6 months before your hormones balance out properly. some people will have mood swings and weird periods during that time (i didn't but everyone is different.) coming off is pretty easy though but it technically stays in your system for a while but you can pretty much get pregnant after not taking it for 2 days or so.
My doctor told me you can start having sex about 2 weeks after the pill, but when I asked my pharmacist he said it's b.s. and it only takes a couple days. I don't remember his reasoning as to why doctors lengthen the time-frame. I had to wait until 2 weeks anyway, and even goin' bare I was just fine in terms of not getting preggo. (I don't recommend not using condoms as a rule though okay.) As for regulating periods, that depends on you and the pill you're taking (because the levels of estrogen vary in pills).

~*~Periods~*~

My pill is called Tri-Nessa and it took two months' worth of pills to go into effect. It probably would've only taken one month, but I was dumb and tried to skip the sugar pills to skip my period because it was going to start towards the end of my visit seeing Tuxedo Mask, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that only ended up giving me a period for 9 days. (Apparently if you try skipping the sugar pills to eliminate your period, it takes 3-4 months of doing so for your period to fully stop and things get wonky inbetween - this might just be for Tri-Nessa, tho'.) I stopped taking the pills and waited until the end of my next period to start again, and my first period after that was gr8. I used to have fairly moderate to heavy flows, and now they are at most light. Some days I don't even need tampons, I just have a panty liner and those things are so tiny and flimsy, but it's all I need. :D My period was also shortened from 5-6 days to 3-4.

Oh also pills do make your tiddies grow so be prepared to buy new bras.

I've been considering going on some form of birth control in a while, and wondering if my school insurance would cover the expenses of buying birth control. I really hated taking the pill, how it made me feel and over all what it resembled to me then and now, but if I had to go on it for a short period I don't think I would mind.

But what I think I really want would be the IUD, because I think it would be really awesome to just be covered for 5 - 10 years without needing to worry about injections/remembering pills/ hormonal changes.

IUDs have mixed reception. Most women like them, but they have their pros and cons (as with any form of birth control).

Most cons consist of: 1) IUD insertion pain and the following few months of cramps and random spotting, 2) heavier periods, and 3) how it feels during sex. (Cost can also be an issue, depends on up-front costs and insurance plans.) I don't think I would get an IUD for those reasons, but I've also had a great experience with the pill, so I don't have a reason to change right away. However, I am considering getting Nexplanon (the arm insertion), and the reasons why I'm more interested in Nexplanon vs. an IUD are mainly the period changes and fear of what would happen if my body rejects the IUD and/or if it breaks. Nexplanon has those same issues but I feel more comfortable with something needing to be taken out of my arm instead of my vagina, you know? The third concern - about how IUDs feel during sex - isn't as big of a concern, because IUDs soften over and your tissue strengthens so yo' penis-partner won't feel anything after a while.

That aside, IUD's have great pros that many women experience. The 10-12 years of stress-free protection (I think this varies depending on which one you get, but either way you get a super effective protection rate, too!), the lack of hormones (only if you get a copper IUD, though, other ones do have hormones), long-term cost benefit, and instant gratification. Works immediately upon insertion, and if you ever want children you can start 'em up right when you pop the IUD out.

Finding the right kind of birth control can be frustrating and expensive. Just make sure you talk everything over with your doctor and never be afraid to ask any questions! :D

i was super into IUDs for a while because they seemed magical and you can get ones with hormone in them (i need that because my periods naturally last about 14 days with REALLY heavy flow, enough to make me anemic,) but after meeting some people with them i started leaning more to the implant. my aunt had an IUD which put her in so much pain she had to have it removed almost immediately. granted this was like 20 years ago. some people i know who got them more recently had pretty bad cramps and spotting on and off for several months, and that alone is just NOPE. i don't do either of those haha.

i think i'll like the implant because it also starts working really quickly and i can have kids pretty much as soon as i get it taken out. it lasts 3 years too so i don't really have to think about it at all. it has a small amount of progesterone which keeps you from getting pregnant andd controls my periods but no estrogen which is more than likely the culprit of my nonexistent sex drive. so hopefully all my problems will cease or at least lessen once they can finally get the daisies thing in. i was supposed to have it in this week but apparently my form got lost somewhere so they had to resend it ><

does an increase in estrogen cause a low sex drive? Cause that would answer a lot of stuff I had questions about stuff.

and IUD does have a lot of pros for the amount of cons I find, but until I can afford it, I think I'm just gonna stay on my pill.

Sore throats though.
got any neato down home ways to make them go away?

and am I the only one who cant read with both eyes open? screen or book, I find it uncomfortable to read with my left eye open.

Honey (mild anti-bacterial properties)
Ginger (anti-inflammatory)
Lemon Juice (Acidic to help clear congestion)

A any or a combination of these things in warm water or tea can help relieve the discomfort. (warm drink can help loosen the muscle in your throat so if you're coughing it hurts less.)

Staying hydrated in general is good, as well as staying warm, clean and rested.

Not sure of the medical properties of it, but my mom always had me drink a mixture of vinegar and honey.

Vinegar is acidic, it's there for the same reasons as lemon juice.

Cinnamon is also noted for having anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, and cloves would act as an anesthetic.

Wouldn't cinnamon dry out your throat though? Unless you meant mixing it with something.

Uh, I assumed that in the given conversation it was obvious that I meant in tea.

Eating cinnamon by itself is a no-no anyway; I don't think anyone would recommend it.
