"Perfect encryption" does exist, unless needing 10 000 years to decrypt something with current hardware isn't secure enough. The only way you're going to break proper encryption is if someone intentionally left in a backdoor or they fucked up the implementation somehow.

Europe continues to hate the Internet: Google recently extended the "Right to Be Forgotten" to a larger scale. Unfortunately for Google, that's not good enough for France as they just fined Google again for not extending the scrubbing of these links from any and all Google searches done around the world. Straightforward privacy protections are one thing but forcing the biggest search engine in the world to scrub links worldwide based on a subjective value of relevance is a completely different beast altogether that would have chilling implications for the future of the open Internet.

There has been a huge information leak regarding offshore bank accounts. Several government officials have been linked to it. This is big. Iceland's PM is already facing a lot of heat for it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, we always get our shit together. Especially after 2008 and Eyjafjallajökull.

It's a small country, I am probably related to everyone on that island. So stuff gets settled pretty fairly and gains a lot of support easily.

Yea, quite a lot of people are protesting in Iceland. It's estimated to be 22-24000 people there, which is nearly 7% of Iceland's population.
