I like the ones that have effects based on the flavor text of other cards.

Idea:

Players play matches of Pokemon, Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh simultaneously.

I call it "King of Games".

Also every 10 minutes they switch to boxing.

Each time you take damage/lose a pokemon, take a shot.

Whenever a hit would lose a game for you, you may challenge your opponent to DDR to negate it.

Whenever you play a foil card, both players compete in a Mario Kart race. The winner draws a card from the deck of their choice.

MINI-GAMES
Every 10 turns (5 turns each) they switch to boxing for 1 official-length boxing round (3 minutes).

Whenever a hit/payment would lose a game for you, you may challenge your opponent to DDR to negate it.

Whenever you play a foil card, both players compete in a Mario Kart race. For every blue shell you use, take a shot. The winner draws a card from the deck of their choice (Community Chest for Monopoly).

If at any point one player calls out someone's mother, both players play a round Texas Hold 'em poker, using any counters/cheddar/hotels they currently own as betting material. The winner may distribute the counters/hotels as she wishes.

A successful SICK BURN prompts a brief Scrabble game. Whoever makes the highest-scoring word in 3 turns receives a prize of 200 life points, one damage counter, one +1/+1 counter or $200. The counters may be distributed as the winner pleases. (Note: It is often the case that both Scrabble and Poker are triggered. In that instance, players complete Poker first. Your initial tiles may be used to wager.)

WINNING:
Defeat your opponent in each of the four base games.
KO your opponent in the boxing mini-game.
Stab, rob, and outrun your opponent.

EXODIA BONUS:
Exioda wins a Yu-Gi-Oh match.

His pieces may be placed in one of your respective hands as:
Colourless Basic Lands
Colourless Energy Cards
$500 bills

I'm going Golgari on Saturday and Rakdos on Sunday for the pre-release.

Also, recently finished constructing my Rasputin Dreamweaver EDH. Played it against my own Ghave deck and my friend's Teysa and Niv-Mizzit decks, and it seemed to hold up really well. There's a few janky cards (Beguiler of Wills and Aeon Chronicler spring to mind) that I reckon I'm gonna replace with counterspells to give the deck more consistency.

Do any of you guys have an EDH deck, incidentally?

I've been thinking about getting back into the Pokemon TCG but I'm sure there are new rules since I last played so many years ago. I never got to properly try out my decks against some others, though.

The biggest changes to the game are that you can only use 1 Supporter Card per turn, you cannot evolve under any circumstances on the first turn (or the turn you laid down a Pokemon), and you can retreat out of any status effect except paralysis to cure it. Retreating for confusion doesn't require a coin flip for success.

And if you weren't around for ex's or EX's, knocking one out gives you 2 prize cards instead of 1.

For everything else, the main site provides a tutorial for how to set up your games, which if you played before, you probably will know.

Also, damage counters and coins, while still usable, have largely been replaced by translucent dice for actual gameplay.

Can't wait for the prerelease tomorrow. Going Selesnya. If I had the cheddar/time I'd probably go to the one on sunday too (most likely rakdos then.)

Kinda sad to look at the signup sheet for all three prereleases at my local shop and only seeing like, three other players going the same guild I am. out of 30 or so people.

Went to Friday Night Magic today with my Door to Nothingness Rainbow Farts Deck.
I lost every single round.
BUT I did have a lot of fun and got a promotional Xathrid Gorgon!

Selesnya came first in our Friday prerelease followed by Golgari, who started off ahead and then Rakdos who also started off strong

So on Sunday I'm pretty sure I'll be either Rakdos or Golgari, whichever they put me with
