So that guy that shot up that college (you know, like what happens every other fucking day in the States! But of course everyone and their mentally unbalanced grandmother should have easy gun access! Thanks, NRA!)
Anyway, I really liked that the sheriff or chief of police or whatever refused to release the shooter's name, because to do so would give him the attention he did all of this for.
and they kept this up for a commendably long time. but as soon as there was a little peep of a name, every media outlet in the country shit itself with joy and threw his name out there, ripped apart his online profiles, and began bothering his family members (who are in shock because their relative murdered so many people and is also now dead? Apparently nobody finds this, i dunno, heartless?).
i'm just... sick of everything. Everything going on in this country right now just pisses me off. Guns for everyone, drugs nobody can afford, dishonest/faked anti-abortion videos to defund an amazing organization that does amazing things and also abortions (if you disagree with the abortions, they do a lot more than that), Trump is top of the polls, everything to do with Kim Davis...
It's funny how most of the issues with this country are primarily due to Republicans cockblocking everything logical and good.
rant over
go back to doing whatever you were doing, discussing mars or whatever
can't wait to see the movie about the most famous long-term Mars resident. What was it called again?
You talking about the Oregon shooting? Yeah, it's tragic that the media is so eager to report on such depressing and heartbreaking news. It's almost like they want people to feel pain and sorrow.
It's funny, in one of TotalBiscuit's videos (He did one on the Sandy Hook massacre, which the media was eager to blame Vidya for when blaming Video Games for violence was the profitable thing) he made a very thought-provoking argument that the media can be blamed for inspiring mass shooters (their not the only cause, no of course not but it's possible they play a big part) as if you watch any news report on a mass shooting then your basically getting a spoken guide on how to do things such as conceal weaponry and the like, because the media is constantly focused not on the tragedy of people dying and families being torn up, but rather, how that came to be. What weapons the killer used, how he used them, things like that.
