Yeah, not all departments have problems. The one in my own city has a neutral reputation. But you can't deny that the police in the US are building up quite a reputation. You don't hear this kind of this from most countries. Maybe corrupt cops in countries with mafias have a worse reputation, but most other corrupt police forces will at most exhort bribes.

Plus, the whole "most cops are good" is really just a defense tactic so people dont have to acknowledge that the systme is fundamentally rotten, similar to the whole "Not All Men" crap that gets thrown around to deflect feminist rethoric. It doesnt matter if a handful of cogs are not rusted and broken, the machine still wont work properly.

Supporting violence/hate against cops isn't the solution though.

Im not supporting it, random acts of minor violence is pointless, but it is also a natural reaction for when people finally get sick of the unrelenting abuse of a system they have no hope of changing. The authorities have already shown absolute zero interest in even disciplining the police, what are people supposed to do then? Violence isnt a solution because there IS no solution. The people in power benefit from the status quo, so you can protest or beat up individual cops all day, its not going to change a daisies thing, AND you dont have the political or financial clout to change anything through voting either, and the people who do wont even acknowledge there is a problem in the first place.

There's one thats already been built, I think. They're bodaciously just doing this to piss off christians and point out the hypocrisy of allowing christian monuments on public property, since the Church of Satan dont actually worship Satan, they're basically just atheists with a provocative name.

At no point did they actually think it was a bomb. They just arrested him for a "hoax bomb" just because they could. The sad and annoying truth.

To be fair it kind of looks like what bombs look like in the movies. The teacher who called it in probably made a honest mistake/erred on the side of caution. But it shouldn't have take hours of interrogating a kid alone to clear things up.

Or handcuffs.
