AWKWARD ZOMBIE

In most agencies, if you pull out your gun you have to be prepared to use it, and if you pull the trigger, not only is it a last resort, but you are trained to either get a clear shot to disable the suspect, or if time/circumstances in general doesn't allow that, to shoot to kill in order to make a messy situation less messy (IE a guy is pointing a gun at an officer or an innocent).

The big problem right now is that cops are very eagar to pull out the gun to solve the problem without either having the training or experience to know there are other ways of solving a problem than going to the highest order possible.

Part of it might also be the public stigma against using nightsticks and tasers on suspects because of the nasty physical and psychological effects those tools can have, but goddamn cops are supposed to be trained how to redirect force used against them to incapacitate a suspect, and if you've already pulled out the gun and get cold feet that's when you're going to get yourself killed and put a gun in the hands of someone who should not be in possession of one.

In all seriousness, there should be licensing for those. I don't see any reason to own a flamethrower. Well, any practical reason.

Tonight, the Hugo Awards have been proven to be rigged. A group called Sad Puppies and an offshoot called the Rabid Puppies were created as a reaction to how much the Hugo awards seemed to favor heavy-handed message-based sci-fi rather than quality stories. They had a decent number of authors represented there. So who did the Hugo's go to? They basically flipped the table over and issued a bunch of No Awards, and the audience was cheering for that. They also wiped the categories that received a No Award from their site. Oh, and one of the main guys working with the Puppies, Jasyn Jones, had his Twitter account essentially banned for no reason; nobody's allowed to see his posts anymore. He was just live-tweeting the Hugos. Twitter just allows bans to happen now because some people get uppity when someone doesn't conform to their views. Modern social media is messed up.

Donald Trump is "The best of the lot." according to Ex Klu Klux clan Grand wizard.

I thought at this point Trump had rustled off everyone besides maybe the Westboro Baptist Church.
