Not really anything relevant, since I'm just waiting for Kamak, but I compiled a list of evidence for myself based on what's been posted, and holy cow this case is a mess.

I actually like it better when it's really ambiguous who the kuro is. It builds the tension up a lot and forces us to cooperate with each other by combining our individual evidence to reach new conclusions.

I also like it being ambiguous but I feel like we can benefit from a list on the actual thread itself, now that Marc mentions it.
We're sure the body was moved from one location to another, and Nook's list suggests the actual death blow was from being hit on the back of the head, which we've also determined is from a fall, not from being struck. Bud's house is a mess too, right? Where there any signs that it could have happened there? What am I missing? We still need to find out where this knife came from, why the stabbing was even necessary, where the actual crime took place, and why this shovel is here. Anything else?

Yes, there's the matter of Diana's toolkit missing and being replaced with Joe's bone, which I'm looking into now. Diana also claims that the doors can't be broken into, so how did someone steal her kit and/or Joe's bone?

I think he was stabbed then pushed over, of the roof or something. Or was stabbed and fell. Might explain why he had blood around him mouth if he fell from rather high.

Right, whoops. Wait, the bone is Joe's? I thought it was just a random bone.
Apparently, he said it was his and that it was replaced by a Rococo chair at some point.

But we can't say for sure that's the exact order of events. It seems to be the most likely case, but there's still no evidence so far that he was stabbed and THEN fell.

((I'd love to continue in the theorizing, but I'm afraid I'll only be able to on specific times of the day, just a heads-up. I'm rather busy during the week if all goes well.))

The biggest questions I have for now are a) Why is presumably Bud's shovel at the crime scene, and b) Are the thefts related to the case, and if so, how?

Joe walks back over to the crime scene. He noticed with pleasure that the shovel was dropped exactly where he had gotten it from. It was the first thing you learn about being an Archaeologist: don't screw up the things you find.
He squatted and looked at the ground around the corpse. "Huh, the body looks like it's been dragged a bit. Let's see if we can find any footprints."

And what do we find, Tom Nook?
(Pfft, I'm not Tom Nook. I'm the Narrator Guy. You may remember me from such roles as, the guy who spoke on behalf of Persona 4's protagonist, and the guy who does subtitles for every french film ever.)
Anyways... you don't seem to find... anything. The locks weren't tampered with, there's nothing on the glass... even the chimney looks the same (and seems a lit too small for the average villager). The only difference is that someone took the lockpicking set and replaced it with a Large Femur from Joe.

She glanced at the items Nook was offering. "...the plaster!" she exclaimed. "You might be able to use the plaster to make casts around the area and see if there are any footprints!"
"Oh, what a smart idea! You're very clever to think of that~"
He sets up the plaster and pours it over the area.
"This plaster will take about half an hour to set up, so we'll have to wait..."

"Perhaps I can investigate the area of the body. Perhaps there are footprints, something lost in the struggle, or perhaps the body was moved and there's a trail."(Is there a way to investigate the blood found on him?)
There doesn't seem to be anything in the mud, but there is a slight trail like the body was either dragged or pushed back with a substantial force.
"If you're wondering about the blood, I can guarantee that only that dead bastard bled last night, upupu..."
If you have other questions about the blood, feel free to ask.

"Yes, we're working on it now... and the plaster should be just about... DONE!"
Nook lifts up the plaster from the ground revealing two types of footprints. One is quickly confirmed to be Bud's... the other is a bird's footprints, in fact, they belong to...
