Nope, 32 bit.
It's pretty old and only specifies up to Windows 98 though, so yeah maybe I'll see if I can set up a virtual machine to run that.

Nope, no luck. If I can't get a virtual machine running, perhaps I'll just look into the various unofficial SDKs that are floating around? I'd imagine they're built for more recent Operating Systems if that is indeed the problem.

Recently I've been having an issue with games having messed up textures. Noticed it first after I tried playing one of those F2P MMOs from Nexon. Thought it odd since I'd played the game without issue before. I recently bought Shoot Many Robots on steam and I'm seeing the same thing happening when I play this game. Would anyone happen to know why the textures on my games are suddenly riddled with holes?

If it spans multiple games, it could very well be a graphics card problem.

My Laptop is dying/omai wa mo shinderu because it just refuses to start up. Like legit, when it starts up, the farthest it gets to is a mouse cursor on a black screen. On every option, safe mode, repair compy, retrying different boot up methods, nothing works. Do I have to call this in and buy a new computer or is there a way to save this?

First thing: put a windows (if it's windows) CD in and select repair.
If that doesn't help you might try wiping and reinstalling.
Your stuff would be gone but it would be too if you threw it away, so...

Or before wiping, try installing a linux on it, ubuntu for example. if you can start it with that you can access your other files and copy them over to a external harddrive or flash drive, then wipe and reinstall windows.
Or keep ubuntu, it's a nice OS.

YOU JUST REMINDED ME THAT I HAD A RECOVERY DISK LYING AROUND SOMEWHERE!

...Where it went though... I have no clue but thank you for reminding me, I completely forgot I had one

EDIT: Welp, can't even get recovery disks to boot up their own programming and no matter what I try this thing just refuses to boot anything. I don't know how to wipe from the start up screen when you get the name brand to appear so I might have to shell out for a new rig.

You could try burning an Ubuntu disc, since they can run their software without installing anything. That's a good way to test if the hardware is the problem, since a problem with Windows might still cause issues when you try using a recovery disc?

And if it does work, Ubuntu has some pretty potent tools to do a complete wipe.

My cousin's taking it home for extensive medical treatment so I'm going to wait on his results and see what happens before I take a plan of action on whether to buy a new one.

I'm planning on putting a Ubuntu distro in dual boot soon, is there a free hard drive partitioning program I can use?

Ubuntu comes with it. You will get the option to install alongside windows during the installation.

If the computer is not even booting up all the way then I'd lay odds something is wrong with the motherboard. If that's the case, new rig is your only option.

Break it. I can't think of any real usage other than a photo frame on the wall or something like that.

Nuke it from orbit. It is the only way to be sure.
