AWKWARD ZOMBIE

After walking a bit more Marcus started getting a bit impatient. "Not to be rude or anything, but are we there yet?"
"Marcus!" Geo gave him a glare.
"I'm sorry! It's just....we've been walking for awhile and..."Marcus's sentence trailed off and they started walking in silence again.

Tony chuckled under his breath, "Yeah. You're lost alright. You ended up in a whole 'nother dimension. This whole forest is from another dimension too," He said, gesturing to the red trees. "It's all corrupted by some demon cult, these guys have learned to make do, though." Tony jabbed a thumb at the soldiers.

Brandon Reid was dumped in the only remaining tower left undumped-in, the western tower. The citizens of the town use this tower as a residential area, so there were plenty of faces staring at him when he has launched out of the ground on into a wheelbarrow, thankfully full of potting soil.

This tower was one of the most lit towers, save for the very top of the vertical tower. There where make-shift shacks as far as the eye could see, each one decorated with some sort of odd set of trinkets or exotic flower bed. From the windows above him, Brandon could see a large, grey cube floating in the static sky.

The Orc noticed Alec's shock and smiled, "Taika, nepažįstamasis.Mes žinome, daugelis iš mūsų giminės gali būti smurto kitiems, bet mes sužinojome, sudaryti taiką, kai mes galime, ypač keista, nes tai žemės." He explained, before using a stray stick to prod the fire. The Kobold looked over at Alec, "In short, we know that there is strength in an alliance in this place."

The Kobold shook his head at the doctor's question, "Nay, traveler. You're still very much alive. A sort of evil caused this land to grow corrupt and grow red with the blood of the poor souls it has taken. That's what the shaman say, anyway. I think it's the dark magic affecting the pigment in the leaves."

The equine nodded at Zephiur's request to pull the sword, "You're not from here then? Should've guessed. You're too well armed for a local, and you're too healthy looking to be one of the braver explorers around these parts." She said, taking another sword from the wall. "You must be one of the fellows Andy was talking about then..."

Seria giggled lightly, although it still echoed in the quiet tower. "We're just about there, we just need to get to the other tower," She explained before reaching the center of the rock.

The rock's center held a sort of vortex surrounded by a bronze cross floating the the empty space. Anyone familiar with charms would recognize the vortex as a gravitational one, this vortex sets the gravity of the whole rock into one direction, instead of multiple ones like a normal planet would. With out this vortex, the citizens of this town would float aimlessly around the clock towers, along with their possessions.

Seria took a step into the center, and effortlessly leaped up to the first step of the tower above them. Looking down at the boys, she waved a tentacle up, "Come on! Just step in and jump!"

"Another dimension?" Jay repeated, going over the situation in his head. "Since I'm obviously the new guy here, I would like to not end up in a situation like what just happened. Is there anything important to know before I find myself digging my own grave?"

Marcus and Geo looked a Seria mouths agape. They both looked at each other and made a leap in the center of the rock. They both gave a "WHOAAAAAAAAAAAA!" as they went up in the air. They flew towards Seria and landed without crashing.
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" Shouted Marcus. He looked at Geo who had a smile as wide as his.
"That was so cool, I felt like I could fly!" Geo and Marcus high-fived.

Brandon, weirded the fuck out, decided to ask some of the people staring at him about the place and general info of this dimension.

"Sure thing," Tony said, heading for one of the watch towers. "This dimension wasn't always like this, it used to be nothing but the sky you see now, but after a friend of mine started using this place as his personal warehouse, the dimension started acting up, started swallowing things inside. Places and civilizations included. Somewhere, in another another dimension, there's a giant crater where a red forest should be." He explained.

"As for the forest itself, it's corrupted by some evil magic, now a bunch of things are just out to kill you simply because they just don't like you, but that's all in the center of the forest, we're all near the edge." He said as they started to climb up the tower, "We've got three different groups surviving out here. This one is one of them, lead by General Shao and his troops, followed by anybody who feels like they need a weapon and some steel armor to feel safe out here. If you ever get lost, just follow the big, black column of smoke from all of Shoa's forges. The guys towards the north are on the opposite spectrum of the law. A band of pirates who were swallowed in here with their ship were dumped into the main lake around here, they tend to stay inside and don't cause much trouble. If you ever need to find them, just find a creek or a river and head upstream. Lastly, you've got the tribal group, they're deeper into the forest then we are. They're all laid-back, pop flyin' to help wounded from other groups, and the only time I've seen them fight is when a worm breached the surface just outside their camp." Tony then looked at Jay, "Oh yeah, we've got giant worms living underground too. thought you'd like to know."

As they reached the top of the tower, Tony pointed out the six other islands floating out into space, naming off the eight different locations, even though only seven islands were visible.

Seria smiled at them both, some black teeth showing past her lips. "The Detectors office is just two flights up, we can't miss it," She said.

Before she could take three steps up, a loud crash of glass was heard, then a door was sent flying down the stairwell, it's origin being two flights up from where the trio was now.

Of the people that could speak and/or understand his language, they told Brandon what they could, ranging from, "This is the nicest place you can find in this pit. My advice? Don't leave." to, "You're looking for the yellow one, just head towards the center and start up the towers from there, you can't miss her." and, "My mommy said not to talk to strangers, Mister!"

"WHAT THE F-" Marcus was pushed out of the way by one of Seria's tentacles. His eyes followed the falling door all the way to the bottom. "What the hell was that all about?!"

(Jay, thank you very much.)

Jay pondered all of this while Tony was talking to him, and for the first time, he felt an urge for adventure well up inside of him. His homeland didn't particularly call to youth to adventure, the geography was uninteresting and bland as far as most could hope to travel. But here, there was just too much to pass up.

"So is there any way to travel between islands, or do I have to wait until I develop the ability to fly?"

Brandon thanked the ones who gave him some information, and headed up to The Yellow One, seeking answers.

Alec blankly stared at the fire for a little bit. ".. Shaman?" Alec finally asked. Where was he? The clergy would never allow blasphemers to practice their cults within the borders of Willowset. The Magic arts were strictly forbidden too. Witch Hunters were very effective at finding any who dared to meddle with forces beyond the mortal scope. "Where exactly am I? I.. don't recognize anything here." The doctor pulled a red flower from his feet, and looked at it. It was blood red, from stem to petal. He had never seen anything like it before.

"I don't know... Come on!" Seria said, hurrying up the stairs towards the office, wanting to see what all the fuss was about.

Tony nodded, "Yeah. You can get from island to island, if you like going over stepping stones over an endless pit," He said pointing out the floating rocks floating around the sky behind them, "But don't worry, the gravity is a little lower off these bigger rocks."

As Brandon approached the center of the rock, a metal door fell from the tower above him, plummeting into the abandoned tower below.

The larger of the Orcs gave a little shrug before the Kobold replied, "You're not in the world you know, Traveler, as we aren't in the one we know. This is a place of many places." He said, pointing a finger to the sky where the green island and the grey cube could be seen, with several smaller rocks floating past. "It is rare to find more then two families of the same kin here, yet they've all come together, throwing their differences aside for the sake of survival, some more-so then others, and still others are slow to embrace this idea."

"Ok, sounds fair enough. I'll probably check out some more of this island first, but if I get tired of red I'll brave the stepping stones. Been nice talking to you, and thanks for helping me out earlier." Jay said, getting ready to descend back down the tower.

Now wary of falling objects, Brandon continues his journey to meet The Yellow One. While walking, he searches his pockets to see what made it with him to this strange dimension.

"I see." the doctor said, after the Kobold was finished. "Could you take me to this village?" Alec motioned to his belt. "I am in dire need of a restock on my potions and alchemical gear. Perhaps your.. Shaman has some he could spare?"

Tony tipped his hat to Jay, "Try to stay outta trouble, and don't be afraid to filch a blade from the stockpile. We don't call it the stockpile because we're on a shortage." he said with a light chuckle.

When the Zeroth eats, it really does eat, so everything Brandon had on his person was still there. But I swear to God, if you have a plasma cannon in your pocket, I'm gonna box your ears clean off.

The Kobold nodded, "We've got plenty of herbs around. Just because it's all red doesn't mean the properties have changed." The second Orc finally made his voice known, "They're a little less potent then they would be normally," he advised, but the Kobold just waved him off, "Details, my large friend. Minor details." He then started towards the congregation of tents, "This way, Traveler. I'm sure the Shaman would like to see if you are one of the few he likes to speak about."
