I just can't. Probably because I was scared shitless by my father when he said a snake almost killed mom when i was little. And he hung the same snake skin in my house so, forgive me but, I'm going to remain in fear of them.

I think if you ever actually met or - dare I say - even handled a tame pet snake you'd get over this.

It sounds to me more like a fear of the unknown.

I don't think cats really love people - they just feign love to manipulate people.

I'm actually able to read a few different emotional states in my snake but I don't always know what it is she wants to do when she presses herself up against the glass of her vivarium (sometimes it's too warm in her viv, sometimes she's hungry, sometimes she just wants to get out for a bit).

Nope. Ive met tamed snakes and ive still freaked out. I let one touch me and I ended up crying. Im well aware of not all snakes are poison demons but, I just cant shake this phobia.

Cats are pretty lame, I don't exactly see the appeal.

Dogs, meanwhile, are wonderful animals.

As for a dream pet: baby alligator/crocodile that never grows up to murder me.
