Red Mage from Final Fantasy, oh, let's say III, since that's what the image is from. He's got a sweet hat, he's accompanied by the other unnamed members of his party(OK, they were named in the DS version), and he uses swords AND magic! Did I mention his sweet hat?

Captain Olimar from Pikmin 2



He wears a helmet as part of his space suit, he has backup in the form of his Pikmin AND (though it's debatable how good he is at watching Olimar's back) Louie.

He also has more than 2 kinds of Pikmin at his disposal, and if Pikmin don't count because they're living, he has 2 sprays that he can use to power up his Pikmin and petrify his enemies.

Godamnit. I should pay more attention next time.

Let's try Corki from League of Legends, he has a helmet, he is by meta placed in the botlane where he has a support who's job is to watch his back, and he has a variety of weapons in the gyrocopter thingy he drives, including a phosphorous bomb, missles, and a gatling gun.

He's accompanied by Waluigi here, but you can pair him with any other racer
He has all the items you can use in Mario Kart
He's in a car (and you drive it too)

The many faces of Weegee in Mario Party 2. There's a bunch of items he can use during the game, and one particular mini-game, Sky Pilots, features him piloting a plane with a partner. And, of course, he has his hat.

Crono from Chrono Trigger. He's got a headband on, you can see him wearing a black shirt and socks underneath his other clothes, he pilots a flying time machine called the Epoch, and he's from a JRPG, so party members. Oh, and he swings a katana and uses magic, so multiple things there.

Samurai Goroh from F-Zero X



Has a headband thing, is the boss of a gang of criminals, drives two vehicles (Fire Stingray and Super Stingray in Japan), and he had black boots and black sunglasses.
