Joe looked up at Diana when he heard a clattering noise. He saw a bone on the ground. He looked back at the shovel. He looked at the bone again fiercely.

Joe dropped the shovel, ran over to Diana, and picked up the bone. "Where'd you find this?" asked Joe as he held the bone up for her to see.

"Whitney, I could--" Diana turned to look at Joe, frowning a little.
"I made a lock picking kit the night before last," she began in her explanation. "It was how I was able to open the first lock to the book that Whitney found. But last night, I found this in its place in my house…"

Kamak can you describe our experience

Joe nods, and says, "The night before last, this bone was in my possession before it was replaced with a Rococo Chair."

"How odd…" Diana said thoughtfully. "Maybe all our possessions got switched around? Maybe that someone has my lockpicks."

((Quick note: I'm going to be a bit busy today, if I don't get back to a response early it's not because I forgot or something!))

"Well First we should investigate the body. We know the knife was used, but it might not have killed him. Once we know all the facts we can start expanding." Luck bends down and begins examining the body.

Pierce kept his gaze fixed on the body.

"Diana, I want you to take me back to your house. Show me exactly where you found that bone and where you left the tool kit you made."

I couldn't find a good one that didn't have spoilers attached to it. Besides which it's like a 5 second clip so...

Sirens go off around town, with red lights flashing from the tops of the trees. You feel a buzzing in your pockets and notice your blue ID cards are now blood red.

"If you look at that now, you'll find some notes that I've taken on the murder. And before you ask, I was not the murderer, and all of these details are facts."

Tom Nook's Murder Notes 1:

-Injury to eye was caused by the same butcher knife that is currently lodged in there
-Death caused instantaneously by trauma to the back of the head from an impact
-Mud around body shows signs of a struggle
-Time of death was approximately midnight

The shovel is brand new, albeit a little wet.



As you walk down the riverbank, there doesn't seem to be anything else odd in the general vicinity.



You investigate the body closer, and discover blood around bud's mouth and on his face under his left eye that was stabbed.

The Re-Tail Team

You reach Re-Tail only to discover that it's closed, just as Nook explained.

"What a shame you can't go in right now, upupu, but perhaps there are clues elsewhere. I should mention that Bud's house is free for searching, but any other villager would have to give you access to their house."

Whitney walked up and downstream for a few minutes before getting discouraged. "There's nothing out here," she grumbled. "Maybe I'll check his home." She turned and headed for Bud's house. She entered cautiously, glancing around to see if anything about his room was different from her's.

Pierce turns to Diana.

"I'm going to investigate Bud's house, but I'd still like permission to search yours as well. The theft of your tool kit and this murder might not be unrelated."

He leaves the crime scene and walks to Bud's house.
