I liked the way my old forum did it. You couldn't post until you had at least 500 posts already.

Kept a lot of the riff-raff out.

But that would just mean that they would post in regular threads. Captchas work at preventing a large amount of spambots from getting into the forum in the first place.

No, because they'd have to accumulate 500 posts before being able to do so.

EDIT: Also, it's half joke half serious. They implemented that "rule" to fuck with the new people who came to the forums.
