I just remembered something else I find attractive in women.

The ability to go through their time of the month with nobody around them having to find out. I say this because I know it's both possible, and because whenever my roommate's girlfriend is on that T.O.M., it usually ends up with her doing something really ridiculous, and my roommate having to justify it by saying that she's on her period.

Meanwhile I've had female friends where we'll be hanging out for hours and she'll just turn to me and say "Ay, can we go out for some va-jay-jay cotton plugs?" And it'll hit me like a ton of bricks that she's even hit that particular week because she'll be acting no different from how she normally does. I know this'll cause some of the female users of this forum to be all "WTF dude how can you say that?", "You don't know what it's like because you have a penis!", and "That's incredibly insensitive!" but I know that my friends-who-happen-to-be-female can't be the only handful of women who somehow have this superpower.

If you believe you're going to cause a shitstorm over something, why not go back and reword what you said/were going to say to avoid causing a shitstorm?

Also, keep in mind, some periods are more chill than others, and some girls naturally have less cramping or less flow/pain/nausea/whatever with their periods. I'm sure everyone can be a bit crabby when they're feeling pretty crappy, doesn't mean they should "get away" with it just because "they're on their period", but it's a legit thing, and it shouldn't be held against them any more than you having a bad day should be held against you.

And yeah, I'm sure there are people who overemphasize their periods and have to make it everyone's business because they're their own center of the universe, but there's people like that about pretty much anything, guys and girls.

Like I have a friend that won't stop bitching about how much his professors expect him to do for school. He basically has to fill out a 20-40 question survey every week for one class (where it's the 5 dot "very satisfied/neutral/very unsatisfied" shit), do typing tests for a keyboard class (that's an "at your own pace" kinda thing), and has to read 2 150 page novels before the end of the semester in his beginner's English class.

The way he talks about it is like they're making him write term papers weekly and are deeply cutting into his "me" time.

So yeah, there's people who will be annoying about their periods, but there's people who are annoying about everything.

I find that, much like the "What makes a relationship not a friendship" discussion, most of how I word that will cause SOMETHING. Also I'm fairly familiar with how the whole "period" thing works. Not from experience, but from studies. I know that it's a real thing and it can suck. I also know that it's a lot like being sick (One of my female friends actually made that comparison.) "Imagine you were sick for an entire week!" Well, for one, whenever anyone's sick, it's for the entire week, or a good chunk of it. For two, I'm also not the type of person to let a cold completely debilitate me.

I know it sucks, and that this may sound a bit insensitive, but it's the same premise as me thinking that because I was able to go from fatbody to delicious studmuffin, it's not so asinine that my standards reflect the same. I'm also not saying skinny, I'm saying fit. You can be "fat" and fit. In fact, more adipose tissue is supposed to be healthy on women, so me being one of those militant "no fat chicks!" guys would be a bit more douchey just for that.

Plus, you underestimate just how debilitating my roommate's girlfriend makes her times of the month. They reach through my roommate and effect my daily life. Shit's bananas. That shouldn't happen. When I have the flu, the only daily life that gets fucked up is my own.

Given my own experiences, just stick with it. It's better for your sanity in the long run.

Look at it like this: I know people get busy, but never so busy they they won't be able to respond in 24-48 hours. I'm in the military and I'll be able to respond to your text within 12 hours. Do you know what the military is like? Shit's ridiculous. The only excuse, even in the military, is MAYBE training, when they take your phone, but I'm guessing this chick isn't in military training is she?

When you get off work, it takes maybe 5 minutes to look at your phone, realize you got a message, and respond. You'd have to be dense as fuck to not ever look at your phone in any given 24-48 hour period given all of life's little 5-10 minute breaks.

Given today's generation, yeah I'd say that's even worse, but I'm just being obnoxious about facebook. What I'd do is call her (like...not text message) either late thursday night or late friday morning to confirm those friday/saturday plans. If she doesn't respond to that by the time the date's supposed to happen, assume it's off.

If she then gets on your booty for standing her up, get on her booty for refusing to communicate like a sane, rational human being.

My friend is in a similar situation. He would like a family of his own, but the proto-wife ain't into that at all. Adoption is out too. I think he might stick with her in the hopes she changes her mind and is willing to forget about kids if she doesn't.

Yeah, that tends to happen. The problem with it is, though, that any guy you find who's most likely to last in a long term relationship is going to want kids. It only makes sense for them to. It also explains why I always hear complaining about not being able to find a decent guy from my female friends who are super adamant about never wanting kids. You inadvertently push them away by being super adamant about never wanting kids.

It's not impossible to find a guy fit for long term who's not put off by never wanting kids, it's just harder. More times than not SOMEBODY is going to have to compromise, and despite what every sitcom/comedian will tell you, no it is not the man who automatically has to be the one to do so.
