That's the best thing I've ever seen! That needs to be in the Epic Pic thread!

I find that pretty awesome, but something about the union soldier with blood gushing out of his face creeps me out. Besides that, though, it's awesome.

It was ok til I found Abe holding a few intestines. Then it got a little gross.

But other than that, it's kind of awesome.

What is the squid guy meant to mean anyway? (I forgot his name) I've seen him everywhere! On shirts, cartoons and as plush dolls.

:psyduck: I hate feeling left out on awesome things

His name is C'thulu, he's one of the Old Ones of Mythos, it's said he lives in the ocean with his sunken city, sleeping until he wakes and walks the earth, causing madness in whomever looks upon him, and chanting dark rituals for the Great Old Ones.

But I wonder why it's become so insanely popular in the last few years :psyduck:

Before he was just an idea by the writer, H.P. Lovecraft, who only managed to get his stories into little magazines for sci-fi, but eventually someone found him and published his stories and people realized he was as big as Poe. He's influenced many a horror writer, even Stephen King.

I dunno. I've read The Call of C'thulhu and The Shadow over Innsmouth but I couldn't get into it. The language was just too archaic and elaborate.

Also: bloop. A huge underwater noise, recorded in the '90s. The location given for the source of the noise is remarkably close to the supposed coordinates of R'lyeh.

Just to see what it looked like, I found the picture that's a parody of, and created a gif that phases between the two. The result is pretty interesting.

it's a bit of a large file, just a note

Edit: Hold on, it didn't upload right, re-uploading it now.

Edit edit: Fixed that.

The entire link, some of them are less creepy than others, and then you get to the caterpillar in the bottom.

Oh man. I love places that have been completely overtaken by nature and I'd LOVE exploring them.

The ones in Japan are best. They get more boring as you scroll down.

Then you hit the clown train for a full blast of WTF.
